My Maytag Gemini just blew up!!!!

I was cooking a big Sunday dinner with guests!!

I had a ham in the oven, candied potatoes, rice pilaf, asparagus, and green beans with garlic sauce on!! All of a sudden I heard a loud bang and a flash of light/fire??? Then the entire stove went dead!!

DH took the stove out and took the back covering off. The wires were completely melted down!!!

The oven is only 3 years old!!!

We ended up with Chinese food and watched the Patriots lose!!

What a bummer of a day...........

What a scary situation, and it never fails, things like this happen when you have company.

I do recall a few threads about this stove and I raved about it!! All I can say now is ..............Sorry!!

My mom had something very similar happen to her oven once, but I can't remember what part ended up being broken. It was a huge hassle getting it replaced because the repairmen couldn't find whatever part it was, and they ended up having to replace the whole thing. They did it willingly since the oven was still under warrenty, and it even included a microwave since ours was attached.
