My May Pre Trip Report...A Reformed Hater, his wife and 3 kids plan for Disney

Hmmm...Where to start? Here goes.
We have 9 days until we head out. Our adventure begins May 13- May 18 (sad so let's not think about the ending). I should be cleaning, packing, etc., but I am so excited I just thought I'd share.

The characters:
DH 38 - Former Mouse hater (I'll explain that later). Pretends he doesn't care about the Mouse or the planning, but secretly can't wait.

DD 7 - Dancer, Queen in training, loves the Mouse, but hates getting there.

DS 5 - T ball extraordinaire, just cut his own hair because it was "sticking up a little" (hey guess what kiddo, it's not now and btw, there's a nice fuzzy patch), getting ready to start Kindergarten, can't wait for pizza and the World SHowcase (weird, I think )

DD 2.5- Did someone say terrible 2's? Another Queen in training, loves to terrorize her siblings, has a speech delay, but can yell "Didee" when the Disney commercials come on, and can do the best rendition of the Mickey Mouse ClubHouse song with almost no words (at least English words).

And finally there's myself 29, almost 30 - Lover of all things Disney, at any given time you can find me planning "pretend" trips. (Just in case, you never know when you'll need one .)

Sit back, relax, have a drink ( I know I'll need one) and enjoy.

And I'm back...Miss me?

First, let me say, I could go to Disney every other month. I can't help it, nor do I want to fix it. Someday, I want to sell icecream on Main Street. ( Big ambitions, I know )
I decided in 2005, that I was ready to make the trek with all of the kids. I planned a December pre Xmas trip. I told the hubby of my plans. He responded with a once and done attitude. I agreed, ok we'll go just one time. Whatever buddy, silly man. He acts as if he's never heard my dream job plans before.
You see, his one and only trip to Disney was when he was 16. His trip included his parents, his 2 other brothers and both grandmas. From what I got out of it, Don't ever ask grandma if she's got rocks in her purse , because sh's going to sit by herself the rest of the vacation. Apparently, that vacation didn't go so well.

Anyway, I started planning our trip and DH didn't care, didn't wanna know, blah, blah, blah. We went to the Xmas Party the first night and by the next morning, DH says.."We can come back in 2 years." Wow, my former Mickey hater is now a Mickey lover..Woohoo, I did it. He has come to the Dis side.

Funny, that's what everyone says. 3 kids? My reply is always, "Well, you can keep them, and I'll go." But, seriously, I love taking them and seeing their excitement, or is that mine?

You may be asking yourself, Didn't she say December of 07? Yes, I did and we are still going then (with MIL and 2 neices). Remember when I said I plan "pretend" trips? Well, back in March, I was planning and a $29 Ding fare came up. Under $500 for 5 of us roundtrip to see the mouse, I couldn't pass that up. Could I? Umm...no.
So, I put my best sad face on and went to find DH.

Me: Hey honey, wanna go to Disney?
DH: Sure.
Me: Ok, how about May?
DH: Um, really..What about our Dec. trip?
Me: Oh, we'll still do then, but I just found great airfare.
DH: Ok, just tell me when I need off.
Me: Alrighty then.
Happy Mother's Day to me!

So, at this point I call Disney set up the reservations. Pop, here we come.
I'm ecstatic and I call DD 7 (who's at her MawMaw's visiting) to tell her.
Me: Since I forgot to send the stuffed animal to school yesterday(stuffed animal day and I forgot, I know boo to me) , how about I make it up to you and we go to Disney?
DD: When?
Me: May.
DD: How?
Me: by airplane.
DD: No that's ok.
What!? I explain to her trhe plane will be fine, she'll be fine, it only takes 2 hours. Ok, she's in.

Now on to the boy..(have I told you he decided to cut his hair? It looks great )..
Me: Hey buddy, wanna go to Disney?
DS: I wanna go to Hershey Park.
mind you we only live 20 minutes from the park, we can see that anytime.
Me: How about Disney first? Hershey's not open yet.
DS: I REALLY wanna go to Hershey.
I bribe him with a later we'll go to Hershey, he's in.

Geez..Where'd these kids come from? I'm starting to think they're not mine and I have 2 kids out there that just wanna go to Disney and their parents don't understand.
Ok, back to my planning. The 2 year old sure is precious, but she is definetly fiesty. Like I said previously, she's fighting a speech delay and few other little things that make life a little trying. She has some Autistic tendencies, but at the same time doesn't. Her Doctors and therapists are still figuring it out. Anyway, she's a great little kid and even without full words, she sings the best rendition of The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When you ask her where we're going she says "Didee!!" then gets her shoes. At least she's excited. I know at least one of these kids are mine.

Outings can be challenging sometimes, but I know this will be a great asset to her and I'm hoping the Mouse brings out the best in her.

So, we are planned for, paid for, and now waiting for the mouse. Up next..Packing, packing and more packing.
