He sounded so good!!!! We talked for about 10 minutes. He said that all of their physicals and debriefing meetings are complete and that they are just waiting on their orders. They've been given the day off, and have to report back at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. He said the EARLIEST they'd be home would be tomorrow, but most likely it will be Wednesday or Thursday.
He said that they are all FREEZING! (They're dealing with temps in the 70's compared to an average daytime temperature of 120 degrees just a week ago). I just laughed and told him to "just wait until you get home!" (Last night, it got into the low 40's here!)
He said that theyve gone out for beers the past two nights and he's now a "lightweight". He said, "3 beers and I'm under the table."
He also told me that he's only lost 1 pound, but that there's some guys who lost 20-30 pounds.
On the flight home from Kuwait, he said that the flight attendants had the plane filled with posters and that the crew was so great to them. He's bringing home another 5 rolls of film. I told him that I'm working on Volume 2 of his scrapbook, and he just laughed at me.
He just went on and on about how excited all of them are and he wanted to know where we would meet him. I told him that we'd be at the Drill Center along with all the family members. He said that he gets GOOSEBUMPS just thinking about it.
