My mangers 13 year old son needs a liver transplant

I feel so bad he is such a good boy and has been threw so much he has Alapesha ( not sure how to spell it but its the loss of all body hair)
And now about a month ago he started vomiting alot and then got real yellow and the docs thought he had hep A and they ran test and found out he didn't and they tested for mono and then he got rushed in again to the ER and they flew him up to LA and he needs a liver they are seeing how bad he is and how long the wait will be but now my manger will have to be out for weeks maybe months. I am making a little box at my work for dontains for her and her son. could all of you Please keep him in your prayers his name is shawn and his moms name is Lori

Shawn and his Mom Lori will both be and stay in my Prayer's. I can relate to this, as I recieved a Pancreas 18 months ago. I hope his wait is not long. Please keep us posted.

My mother-in-law received a new liver in 1988. At that time should was put on a donor list. I think it was about two months and she was called. The first liver was not a match. The same day they had a second liver become available. That was a miracle. The liver took and she lived for 12 years. The last two years she started getting bad. She needed another liver. In 2000 she was told that there is such a shortage of donors. She ended up dying. I hope the very best for this boy. I think we should be so aware of how important organ donations are. It saves so many lives. She had hepatitis C.

It really hits home when you have one the same age. 13 sounds like an older child, but i have a 13 y/o son and he will always be the little bald, wrinkly baby in my heart.
