I just wanted to share this with all of you because it truly has made all of this even more magical for me.

The other night my 8 year old son was flipping through his Disney book and he suddenly stopped and said:

"Mom.... you know, dreams do come true"

I looked at him and agreed with him and then asked him why he was saying that. To which he replied:

"Because you are making my dream come true by taking us to Disney."

I have to tell you guys... yes.... I cried!!!!! And the tears well up everytime I tell this story to anyone who wants to listen. :rotfl:

Just thought I'd share this. :)

It's amazing what planning a trip to Disney does to you and I can only imagine what being there is really like.

We've never been there and it's also been my dream since I was very little to one day make it there. I can't believe my dream is coming true too!!!

47 days to go! 47 more days of anticipating.

That's worth every dime you paid. Anything else is icing on top !!!

Having a child tell you that lets you know...Dreams do come true!
Have a magical trip!!:grouphug:

What a Beautiful story!! I teared up when we went last year, it was the first time my kids had ever been to Disney. I felt so much excitement for them! They still talk about it on almost a daily basis. I can't wait to meet you in April :goodvibes

You are in store for a magical, fantastic adventure. When you arrive on Disney property, it's like being in a different world. You will probably be overcome with excitement, and you'll have a great time! You have every right to be excited, and I'm hoping it will be everything you want it to be and more. Even after multiple trips, my grown daughter and I can get misty-eyed just talking about watching Wishes or watching Fantasmic, Illuminations, or Spectro. My sons make fun of us, but they love it, too. I hope that this first trip will be fabulous, and that you will go back many times in the future. Be sure to come back and report about your trip and let us know what you think of it after the fact.

Jen ~ Can't wait to meet you too! I think you hit the nail on the head. I'm feeling overwhelmed with excitement just thinking about how this is affecting them and how excited they are. It's as close as you can get to giving your child the moon. Nothing compares to Disney. I truly believe every child holds the dream of going to Disney close to their hearts.

MeMom ~ I can only hope and pray it's half of what I expect. I will definitely report back after the trip.

My DH laughed at me tonight because we were talking about Disney and I mentioned to him about how I wished I could go when I was little and that I was still in disbelief it was going to happen. And then I mentioned something about "next time we go" and he chuckled. He told me to at least wait till we come back before planning the next trip. :rotfl:

....just reading that. Last Dec. when we were on Space Mountain, my DS
was sitting behind me and screaming his head off. It's his favorite ride. I
felt like weeping because I felt so happy that he could feel comfortable doing
that. He's 23!:thumbsup2 :scared1:

Oh wow...Okay, now I'm all mushy! ...Must fight back tears...!
Children can say the most inspiring things, they always seem to come from the heart.

I'm so happy for you, this trip will truly be the time of your life, for you and your son! Enjoy it and take tons of photos/video! Those are great for having memory parties later...just be sure to have a bucket and some tissues handy for all those happy tears!

Thanks guys. :) Now I don't feel so alone. Sometimes I think I'm an overly emotional mom but looks like this happens to others too. :)

And yes... I'll be packing lots of tissues! :rotfl:

AAaaaaawwwww! That makes me want to cry too! He is going to love it.

How incredibly sweet is that!?!?!?!?!?

You will have an amazing time and you can expect to have a few more 'teary' moments while there I'm sure. When your child's eyes get larger than saucers the first time he greets a character and gives the character a huge hug, when he watches the fireworks, when he passes out at the end of the night with a smile on his face, the memories that you will share with him, the stories and memories you'll recall for many months after your trip, and many many more.

I hope you have a wonderful time, may the lines be short, the food be better than you imagined and the weather be perfect.

:tinker:

That had to be a great feeling, have a great majical vacation.

What a great little guy! That makes every penny you spent on the trip worth it and you haven't even left home. Have a great trip.

Thanks everyone!

DH just mentioned tonight that I'm almost more excited than all of them put together. I think he may be right! :cool1:

What a sweet story! He sounds like a great kid :thumbsup2

Not to Old For Fun...I am sooooo happy for you & your family!!!!! We went for our very first trip last April & I was so emotional!! I loved it so much but was also aware of the fact that this was something special that my DH & myself were able to give our DS 8 & DS 9...something that our families were not in a position to give us when we were growing up. Let me tell you, I said more than one prayer of thanks that week....the week we made our son's wishes come true!!!

And yes, it really is as good as you think it will be! We have planned our second trip & are back in Oct this year. Enjoy it!!!

Stargazer ~ he is!

pta-mom ~ you are my inspiration now. I lived the same thing and feel blessed to be able to give this to our children. I can only hope they treasure this forever. I'm also hoping to go back again with the boys. My DH said he won't go back but I'm sure if I don't succeed in twisting his arm, I'll be able to find someone who'd love to go. :)
