Been so busy with other things in my life, I haven't been able to focus on this trip to DL until now. I finally turned on my MCC and was shocked to see we have a mere 40 days left before we leave. Our last visit to DL was in November of 2007. Not nearly as happy a time for me then as my brother had just passed away in October. Time has a way of healing broken hearts so it is with a much lighter heart that I am looking forward to this vacation.
We have all arrangements made and tickets bought so now the only thing left to do is have a yard sale for some extra spending money. We haven't visited DL during the summer months in many years and my daughter is freaking out about it.
Neither she, nor I, take the heat very well. I reminded her that it hit 90 degrees when we were there in Nov. last time and that we survived it by making use of the wet rides in both parks and cooling off in the fountains. There's also the option of leaving the parks around 1 and returning about 5 or 6 since the parks will be open a bit later than than they are during the winter.
Don't have a clue about the crowd situation during the week before Labor Day, but I think I read that Orange County kids are back in school that week, so maybe that will have an affect. No matter...I'm going armed with Hydroguy's FP tips and Ridemax. We have the choice of a relaxed vacation utilizing those excellent tools or going with my son's idea of "just going with the flow" and having a stressful one. Guess which plan I'm going to use?
