Has anyone been able to successfully link MDE with a premiere pass?
I've been geting errors on scanning with the mobile device and when I enter the barcode on the site, i get told my pass has expired.

I just got off the chat with the live chat people and they said they two were not working yet. Does this sound right? Below is the chat transcript.

Ryan: Hi there. I'm trying to link my Premiere Annual Pass to MDE, but when I enter the barcode information, it tells me that my annual pass is expired.

Ryan: On the pass it doesnt expire till JAN 2014, but it says JAN 2013

Ryan: I talked to MDE help and they pulled up the pass and saw that same info.. They had me call Disneyland ticket sevices to verify the barcode info and they said it reflects 2014

Bart: Hello and thank you for choosing the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida as your vacation destination.

Bart: Did you enter the code or scan it with a smart phone?

Ryan: I entered the code..Tried scanning, but i don't think it worked

Bart: Let me check on some information...

Ryan: I tried scanning right now and it identifies it as a domestic ap - ca sale..when i click next it errors out saying unable to convert

Bart: Okay. At this time the Premier Pass cannot be linked in our My Disney Experience® system. We hope to have this corrected soon. Scanning will be the easiest way once the system accepts the Premier pass.

Ryan: Will this affect getting magic bands?

Bart: At this time MyMagic®+ and the MagicBand®s are being tested and not available outside the testing. We hope be begin rolling out to our resort guests by year end. Passholders will be notified in the Mickey Monitor when MagicBand®s will be available for Passholder usage.

Ryan: Ok, I'll wait till I hear something. thanks

Bart: You're welcome! Do you have any other questions I can answer for you?

Ryan: nah, i think we're good

Thanks, this is exactly the info I was looking for. I have a DL AP and was thinking of getting the Premier AP when I go to DL in Oct. Right now I have a package with 7 day hoppers for our New Years WDW trip. I would be the only one with the Premier AP and want to make sure it will work with Magic Bands and FP+ before I upgrade.

Hi, I got a similar frustrating response. My pass shows up as a "invalid" and tells me to check it over again.

"In order to correct this issue, we will need to re-issue your Premier
Annual Pass. We will re-link your pass to the Tickets section on the My
Reservations page for you. All you will need to do is pick up a new
Premier Annual Pass from any of our Guest Relations locations at one of
our Theme Parks at Walt Disney World® or Downtown Disney®."

After emailing back, they say that it has been escalated to the web development team.

So who knows when this will get resolved. Unfortunately, I will not be at WDW until next spring at the earliest. I would like to have this resolved so that I can order my magicband, and make my FP+ reservations before then.

*Crossing fingers!*

Does anyone else have any other information? Thank you!

We have Premier APs purchased at DL. I scanned both passes with the MDE app before I read about the problems. Mine flashed the word "California" briefly while it was scanning but simply shows "Disney Annual Pass" on MDE. My husband's however shows "Ticket or Pass" on MDE and will not allow FP+ reservations because he requires "Valid Park Admission."

When I called IT yesterday I was told that it was a known issue and they would have to link his AP manually. She also said to make FP+ reservations for me as they could be copied to my husband once his AP is linked.

So, yes it is possible to link successfully...but not guaranteed.

I emailed them back stating that I already had a RFID pass, and they said that I will not have to have the pass reissued.

However, they did not provide any idea of when this will be resolved.

Trying to scan it into the MDE app, it says that this pass has already been scanned to an account. This is probably mine since I have it showing in the affiliations section.

However, it does not show up in my tickets and pass area.

I was wondering if they were able to fix your husbands pass?

I have had no issues, it shows both a Florida Pass and a California pass instead of a combined pass, though.

Just tried to link our passes once more. The app will scan and upon confirmation say there is an error. The site shows my pass as expired. I clicked link regardless and then get an error back. This is frustrating. I know the system isn't rolled out yet, but I don't like the idea of being behind others who were successful in linking.

I do not have a primer pass, but I am taking a back to back Disneyland/DisneyWorld trip in October. I was shocked to see the system added my Disneyland dining reservations automatically. I tried to link the hotel reservation and tickets (knowing only WDW was doing the testing but still curious to see why the systems were lining up with dining). I could not link the tickets or the hotel reservation (which is an on site one). I am guessing premier passes purchased at Disneyland are tied into The Disneyland ticket system thus not in the experience yet. Based on the fact that dining at either coast appears, I am guessing they are working on it. Hopefully, they will link everything together. That will be easier for those with promise passes or those taking back to back trips.

After some more back and forth, here is what we got:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Due to the dual media of your Passport being able to be used at both
Walt Disney World® Resort and Disneyland® Resort in California, the
Passport is not transitioning to the Tickets section of the My
Reservations page. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Please know that the web development team is working diligently on this
issue. Currently, we do not have an ETA on when this will be completed.

For FastPass+ selections, as of this time for your reservation, it is
not eligible to schedule FastPass+, as this is still under a beta test
for reservations through the end of October. If your reservation
becomes eligible for the My Magic+ testing, as we are still looking at
the possibility of extending the test, you will receive an email and/or
mail inviting you to participate in the test. At that point, if your
premier passport is still not linked to your account, you may call in to
make your FastPass+ selections.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Update.

I've been emailing back and forth with disney it. They have been very personable and apologetic. They said that my pre,Eire pass needs to be reissued and then I have to pickup a new one once the process is completed. Also! Once they create the new pass, they will link the pass into mde. So hopefully we are almost there?

Hello,

What was the exact error you were getting on MDE? Could not locate in database? Or pass was already linked to another account?

Thank you!

Have you made it clear to them that your pass is already a RFID pass? After I told them that, they informed me that I do not need to have my pass reissued.

Even if they did, it is unacceptable. What if we are planning a vacation and are unable to book out fastpasses in advance due to it not being linked? And not being able to get a customized band and being stuck with a generic grey band?

Our vacation is from 10/17-10/22 - we've been trying to link our annual passes to our order for Magic Bands (this is the last day we can do this). I got this message
"Thank you, Lois!
We've received your request to add a Passholder affiliation, but have encountered an issue processing your information. Please try again later or call (407) 939-4357. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.
"
I actually spent quite a while on the phone with a CM on Saturday who understood my problem, was able to 'see' our APs and was going to pursue it further. Today I got the same email. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm guessing we're just going to have to wait till we get there to personalize our Magic Bands.

we also have the Premier AP and am currently in the "queue" waiting for them to be applied to my MDE account...

per the IT CM who helped me about 3 weeks ago, she said they are lining up the AP issues in order of resort arrival dates. I do call back each week to double check I'm still in the queue.
we don't arrive until 11/23 so not worried about it at this time, since we don't even know if we will be getting MB and FP+ at this time due to the fact they haven't released Nov arrival dates yet.

they do have to go to the special dept to get added since they have 20 digits instead of the 12 digit codes on the back.

Hmm. Are you all trying to link passes purchased on Florida? Ours were, obviously, issued in California. All three people in my party have had no issues linking them to ourselves in MDE. We were able to make FastPass + selections as well.

I must need a different special department - I have 17 digits on the back :rolleyes1 I'm even more special. I'll be pleasantly surprised if the issue is cleared up by tomorrow. My fault, I should've done it sooner - oh well!
