Today, I went to Epcot mainly to check out the doll and teddy bear wkend thing. You are not going to believe what happened there!

When I arrived at the former Millenium Village, I browsed through each of the many merchants booths. I heard an annoucement that a doll demonstation show was about to start and thought that sounded like fun, so I took a seat.

The hosts were a man and a woman who designed dolls for Precious Moments. After they talked to us about what they did, they chose 5 volunteers to create dolls with a handful of wigs and outfits and doll bodies while blindfolded. I wasn't picked, but then they pointed out that they had 5 people but only 3 dolls. The 2 men on stage were then asked to *be* dolls, and the woman picked 2 more to dress them up. lol. This time, she did chose me! (She called me the shy quiet girl over there and said I needed to come up.) I put a wig, hat, and large dress on a middle aged man.

Ok, I'll get to the really neat part- all the participants were given free prototype Precious Moments dolls! I'm not talking little bity things either. Those who designed a doll got theirs plus a small one. I got a 10 inch brunette in a doctor outfit, a smock covered in ducklings. The designers signed them for us too! The woman told me to visit her at her booth to get mine signed, and when I came over there, she handed me a 16 inch Cinderella doll! She said she felt bad that everyone else had also received the doll she designed along with a smaller one and I hadn't so she wanted to give me this one too. :)

My Cinderella is a much bigger prototype of a PM doll that they were selling for $50. They had made only 100 of them for an event that ended up getting canceled. Wow! My doll must be the only one of her kind!

And get this- it doesn't end there. Shortly afterward was a teddy bear presentation in which they raffled off a handful of different bears. They were on the very last bear. The first number they called was someone who wasn't there. The next number, however, was mine!

I really hit the jackpot today- 2 dolls and a Hard Rock Cafe bear dressed like the Statue of Liberty that originally sold for $20! This is nuts- I never win anything!

(Sorry for all the exclamation points, but can you blame me?)

I didn't stay at the park as long as I originally planned because my arms were tired of toting around 2 big dolls. I got some fun reactions to them though.

I found pinapple cream Pocky in Japan. MMmmmmmm.

I ran into MommytoMJM in America along with her husband and MJ herself. They invited me to hang with them, but we were circling the World Showcase in opposite directions, and I didn't want to backtrack.

After I left, I decided to browse Downtown Disney. I hadn't seen Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Botique since it opened so I got to check that out. It's so cute! I wish they had something like that when I was little. I would have been all over this princesses franchise. I've heard adults can get it done too, but I think I'd only do it if I had a friend doing it along with me.

I had a sandwich at the Earl of Sandwich- the All-American with turkey, buttermilk ranch, cranberries, and chedder. Heaven!

Congrats on your extra magical day!!! Looks like some one did something really good for all that extra pixie dust :wizard: !!!!!

Well congratulations Angie. I wish I had been there to see you dress up the guy. Isn't MJ just one of the best? Next time you see Bonny, Andrew, and MJ tell them that Phil, Brenda, Tara, and Billy from CT said hi.

that sounds like so much fun!

I never win either. I can understand your excitment! hehehe

AngieBelle... What a magical day you had! And what wonderful magical memories you will relive every time you look at the dolls and the teddybear! I'm so happy for you!

Wow, that's really fabulous! I don't think you used too many exclamation points, either. This is what they're there for. <Hee hee> In fact, you could have used even more to express this magical moment. I'm dancing for ya! :cool1:

Wow! Congratulations on the awesome luck!! The dolls/bear are adorable!

I always say, if it wasnt for bad luck I would have none at all!

Wow, you must have walked through a cloud of pixie dust on your way in to Epcot. Congratulations!!

Sounds like a great day! I have a nurse friend who would just love that nurse doll. :)
