My little vent

I joined you guys on WISH during the summer but haven't really posted, just lurked. BUT, I did start walking with my girlfriend about 2 to 3 times a week and 3 1/2 to 4 miles each time. We haven't done it in about two weeks (weather has been nasty, we both have been sick) and I do NOT own a scale so I am not sure if I have lost anything (probably not) but I think this board is great. The amount of encouragement everyone gives each other, without judgement, is overwhelming. Whether you want to lose 10 or 100 pounds we are all treated the same and for that I say Thank You. We are getting back to walking this weekend and I just wanted to say thanks for this "outlet". :p
 
Stacey, all that walking must be helping you feel great!! Having a friend to walk with really helps, doesn't it?? Good luck getting back into it after your little break - I hope you and your friend are feeling better!!

The WISH board and my WISH journal have been incredibly helpful to me. I've never found such a supportive and wonderful bunch of people anywhere else on the web. I feel truly blessed to be a part of this board.

Feel free to join in more instead of just lurking, Stacey! At least post to the weekly check-in thread. We want to help you celebrate all the good stuff and support you through the tough spots! ::yes::
 
I'm glad to see another upstate NYer here, Stacey:wave: The scale isn't the only measurement of success. How you feel is an important indication of how well you're doing. Walking is great and sounds like an enjoyable exercise for you with your friend.

Have you and your friend thought about purchasing a Walk Away the Pounds video for those bad-weather days? There are lots of WATP fans on the board if you'd like more info!

My library had some so that I could try them out first, I think you'll like 'em!

Kudos to you for beginning a walking program and sticking to it. You're right, the scale is just a number, that's not what it's all about. Do you have a tape measurer? That is the best way to track your progress!! You girls could measure each other, that would give you consistency in your measure-taking process and accountability! Another key to staying with your program!
 

I hope you will "delurk" more often, it's great seeing you here.
 
Glad that you stopped by and posted, make that more of a habit now:D . I hope that you are enjoying your walking and especially having someone to walk with you is great. Keep up the great work and check back in with us often.
