My Little Rant

So today I decided to vist some trading rooms. I was looking for a few items such as a seagull hat and other various items. I had a ton of rare stuff to trade. So I went to a few rooms, talked to some people. The first two rooms where a bust, everytime I walked into the room trade offers would pop up for my crown. So I stayed for a while looked around and then I'd leave to find another one.
So after about 15 minutes of this I walked into an almost empty trade room. There was one person on line then another person on a high post type chair. EUREKA he had the seagull hat! I was so excited so I told him I wanted his hat and he said sure. Then he asked me to list some of the things I had for trade so I list
-stitch teleporters
- three star invisibility magic
- cowboy outfit (possibly)
- trucker hat
- retro pins
- gold set (possibly)
- penny press
- rocket couch
and some other items I am forgetting.
He clicked trade and put the hat up...This was it! I couldn't wait!
I said Ok what EXACTLY do you want to finialize the deal...
He told me EVERYTHING YOU LISTED PLUS FIREWORKS MAGIC!
I was shocked and I tried to reason with him! I told him that it was too much and could i give you this instead of that...he wouldn't listen. He told me it was everything or NO DEAL! Then he clicked out.
I can't believe he was asking all that for a hat. Yes I really wanted the hat...but I wasn't about to give up all that! Some where quest items and one or two where gifts. I really REALLY want that hat very badly. But I am so shocked at what this person was expecting to get for it! It's insane.
I will be back to DISNEY at the end of next month but I am not sure if I will have time to do the tour...
I wish there where more people like us DISers on VMK
I've given two teleportation magics and VIP codes for free expecting nothing in return...I didn't even save a teleportation pin for myself! And I know most DISers give away things all the time because we are NICE! We don't always expect things in return and use hats as bargaining chips to make a huge PAYOFF...

what a bummer! I wish I had a hat to give you, unfortunately I don't have one yet either. Hopefully soon.
Makes me wonder what he would have said if you had only listed 2 things for trade instead of the whole list.

I can't get over how greedy some people are in trades. I've been looking for some pirate stuff too, but most people just want way too much for it. I've pretty much decided to just wait until they get it at WDW.

That's not very nice. Trading seems very tricky, so i just trade items between me, myself, and i.

Girl do I know where you are coming from!! LOL I have spent the last couple of days trying to trade for a yellow princess dress. I had some rare furniture in my room, but people were just getting ridiculous with what they were asking, or offering things that were just insulting. I have to realize that not everyone is as nice as most of us Dis'ers.

It is pretty ridiculous I agree!! I was in a room the other day and a girl was asking if anyone had a water cooler for trade. I asked if she knew that she could buy it, and she said "no, really?" I told her yes and it was at star traders for only "hive oh" credits. Another girl piped in and said, "no, its hive oh oh credits and I'll trade you one for a dress!" Well, I was shocked at the whole thing and feeling sorry for the girl who wasn't aware of the value of things. I quickly bought a water cooler and gave it to her. Its really sad how selfish (and rutheless) some of these people can be, and all over virtual stuff!!

I wish there where more people like us DISers on VMK

First off, most of my friends on VMK are not Dis people. If I were to ask for a seagull hat from one of them, I would have one! They are the best! So please, give everyone a chance. My advice? AVOID TRADE ROOMS!!! Most of these people are only trying to rip off new people. Find yourself a new friend, walk around the different areas and meet new VMKers. You may be pleasantly surprised!
Hope you get a seagull hat! And a fair deal!

Good luck with your hat hunt! I have made it a policy to try and give all my new friends a gift. The only requirement is that when they get the credits they pass a gift on. I wish I could take credit for this idea but someone else did it for me when I was new. I have been given some wonderful gifts this way. I hope one of us gets a hat to give you!

Hi all
just wanted to say that I new to vmk and boards and that I'm all most afraid to try and trade with anyone. After the frist time I tried to trade with someone I notice that some how I was missing things and my credits had gone to 0. I thought they were gone for good ! but went I logged back in they were back some how? I was sad to read that you had a bad trading time trying to get your hat.
But it seems that the Dis traders I have met are really nice people.
