My Little Princess is Turning 8 trip report. Completed

Wow, off to a great start.

I like the CS at Mexico, love sitting by the water. I have to remember about the Disney Visa pics at Innoventions when I am there in August with my niece. I never seem to make over there.

I do hope the dog is ok though, don't forget to let us know how that turns out!

I'm loving your trip report! The matching outfits are too cute! Can't wait to read more.

Lurker here! Enjoying your trip report. Thanks for taking the time!

Thanks for reading :goodvibes

Love Mexico's CS. Plan to eat there again next time. It was so peaceful once the boys left  . This is the first time I ever made it to Innoventions for the photo. Try to make it there in August since there is usually 2 characters and a very short line. I'm not going to leave you hanging on the dog situation, she's OK just wants to be in her own house I guess. She drove my mom crazy :crazy2: though.

I'm loving your trip report! The matching outfits are too cute! Can't wait to read more.

Thank you! I hope to have and update Thursday.

Hi Cathy :goodvibes .
Thanks so much for finding us and for Birthday wishes. Kaylee had a wonderful Bday. When are you supposed to be going to FL and daytripping to DTD?

We went Feb 23 - March 1; the wedding was on the 29th. It was beautiful! We ended up going to DTD on the 26th - it was an absolutely georgous day - we had a great time. Spent about 5 hours there.

I feel the same way about NJ, though it's a short plane ride, but homesick alot more now. Who knows maybe when we go to NJ in June, I'll be glad to go back to TN after. Or we may look at some houses :confused3 on our visit. We have been here almost 3 years.

I just found this TR and I love the pics of the family.

You are homesick about NJ. Hmmmm I have lived there my whole life and I wanna move pronto to CA.

Yay! :yay: I only missed one update while I was out of town for Easter! I was starting to have serious DIS withdrawals while I was at my sister's house in GA and even had to sneak on once when everyone had gone to sleep! During the day the kids had all the computers occupied with Webkinz activity! :lmao:

Anyway, I love the autograph books, calendar, great stroller tag, and matching shirts! I know Shawn would have conveniently forgotten his matching shirt too! :rolleyes1

Epcot sounds great! Well, except for that 100 minute wait at Test Track! Geez Louise! I'm sure you were about to come out of your skin! :headache: Glad the Mexican birds weren't too troublesome for you! THose things were everywhere when we were trying to eat. It was like "Hurry, take a bite of your churro and shut the styrofoam lid before they're on to us!" :scared1: It was like they were birds of prey or something! The "prey" being our tacos and nachos!

Can't wait to read your next update!

Sounds great. Glad you got to DTD. You should do a day trip report.

:welcome: Thanks for reading. Yes we are a bit homesick since we lived in NJ our whole lives. I guess you don't miss NJ until you live somehwere else for a while. Where in NJ are you from? Were from Brick twp.

Sorry about your DIS withdrawals, I know how that works now. Did you have a nice Easter? Seems like my computer is often tied up on the weekends with Webkinz ;) . I'm actually surprised my DH forgot his Tshirt. The picture would have looked better if he wore it. Guess it 's a husband thing.

The wait for Test Track was awful. I never realized how loud and annoying it is in there. About 60 minutes into the wait I was getting really cranky like Thomas. I don't really do long waits and I'm not patient when one of my kids is about to meltdown. We did luck out with the CS in Mexico, but I did warn DH about the birds knowing they might be a problem. I guess they were full already:lmao:.

Great report so far, love the pictures of your kids! Your dd must have been excited to be there for her birthday:goodvibes

Thank you and welcome!! Yes Kaylee was really thrilled to be in Disney and then MK on her Bday. My kids didn't want to come home, neither did I.

Enjoying your TR again.. (read your last one, but was a lurker :) ) adorable family.. can't wait to hear more!

DAY 1 Part 2...

We left on with us taking the enjoyable boat ride from Epcot to HS. We arrived at 4:45 and our dinner ADR was for 5 PM. We had enough time to get a stroller and see the end of HSM2 schools out in front of the hat. It was starting to drizzle so we went to check in for dinner.

This was our first time eating at 50's PT , Tom wanted to eat here on our last trip so thought we would give it a try. I checked us in and made sure Kaylee's surprise was in order. I think we waited 5 minutes before we were seated. We did have a TV table :yay: in one of the quiet little rooms.

Our server was Uncle Tim. He was very funny but sort of a dry sense of humor. Luckily my kids are used to this sarcastic kind of personality. He kept calling Kaylee" Princess" Thomas "Scooter" and me "sunshine". Tom didn't get a nickname. Thomas was of course hiding his face from him but was laughing. He asked us all if we washed our hands and pretended he hadn't seen us in years. Kaylee had alot of fun with this. I was worried about that but as long as she wasn't being picked on it was all good by her.

The kids ordered baked chicken nuggets. Kaylee ate all of hers and Thomas didn't touch his. Tom had the meatloaf and made dure to finish it all so he wouldn't get in trouble. He did put his elbows on the table though ;) . I ordered the fried chicken which was good but way too much food for me. I wanted to feed the rest to the dog, but there wasn't one. I get embarassed easily and of course because I didn't finish my food, Uncle Tim decided to fed me a bite with airplane noises  . My family loved every second of this ,especially Kaylee. I don't have any pictures but Tom did videotape it

After dinner Uncle Tim brought out Kaylee's cake :cake: I ordered. It was supposed to be a Hannah Montana cake which the CM on the cake hotline said they definately had, but did make me pick a back up in case. I picked HSM for a second choice. . It turned out to be a HSM cake, chocolate of course. But it didn't look all that great, tasted really good though. Uncle Tim made the other family in the room sing Happy Birthday to Kaylee with us. She was a bit embarassed :lmao:and uncomfortable but excited to get her cake. She was very surprised because she thought she would get a cupcake but her cake at Chef Mickey's on her actual Bday.

Anyway it was delicious and the dinner was pretty good too. We figured since we had such a large cake we would share with the kids at the next table. Seeemed like a nice family. We would eat here again for sure.

When we left dinner it was raining so broke out the poncho's and got paper towlels to dry the stroller. The park was alot less crowded now. We thought about going into GMR but the kids were now complaining. Though Kaylee was more than willing to go to Animation studio of course. No one felt like seeing VOTLM either. We did see Handy Manny outside though. We missed him last trip and I thought Thomas would be thrilled to see him :confused3 but he was in no mood. We did try to get a picture and got autograph's of course.

Then we took the bus back to Pop since I had no idea of our room number since we misplaced the paper they give you when you check in. At least we knew our room would be ready since it was 7 PM when we got back to the resort. We stopped at the front desk to get our room number. Did I mention that the kids loved the Lobby!! Tom went to get the luggage and we went to check out the room. We were in the 50's section on the top floor.

The room was definately small and nothing fancy but it was clean at least. I had to check out the beds since I heard they were like concrete. They were firm and one of the beds was lumpy so I picked the other one ;) for me to sleep in.

After we unpacked we had to go to everything Pop to look around. I loved the store, it had just about everything. It was quite crazy in there and the food court too. We bought a few things, Thomas picked out the 3 pack of Disney buses and I needed a new pair of Mickey earings. Kaylee spent some her money on a Mickey electronic planner. We were exhausted so we headed back to the room so the kids could get their baths and we could all get sleep. We had a 6:30 am wake up.

UP Next: Kaylee's Birthday surprise and MK Day...We win a Dream and a magical moment too!!!

Great update Nichole! 50's Prime Time sounds like a hoot! The airplane noises - hilarious! :lmao:

So, overall you liked Pop? I know you are a deluxe girl, but it was ok, right? :confused3

Ooo, Ooo, a dream! I can't wait! :jumping1:

Great update! Love Kaylee's new hat! Sounds like a nice dinner at 50's prime time - I think the server can make or break that experience. The cake looks yummy - too bad they didn't come through with the Hannah Montana. How nice of you guys to share with the other kids in the room! :thumbsup2
I love the Everything Pop store too! One of my favorite resort shops!

Looking forward to Kaylee's birthday day! (That was Saturday - right?)

Great update Nichole! It looks like you were in the exact same room that we were last April!:thumbsup2 POP is nothing fancy, but it is clean and so much AWESOME theming!:goodvibes I just made a ressie for PTC so now we have to choose between PTC and Yak and Yeti:confused3 I guess we'll play it by ear! Kaylee's cake looked so cute! It was very nice of you to share with another family!:flower3: Looking forward to hearing about tomorrowpopcorn::

:) 50'sPTC sounds fun. I might just have to go there next trip. Kaylee's cake looked good - too bad it wasnt Hannah Montana. Wonder why they couldnt accommodate your original request?

So, overall, how did you like the value resort? Would you stay there again or is it back to deluxe next time?

Cathy

We went to 50's last time and loved t I am glad you liked it. Sorry that you didn't get the Hannah cake. I am glad that Pop was clean because we are staying there for the first time in June.

I liked Pop fine for a few days. I think we would be really tired of squishing in that room with each other after a week. Even at Poly 4 people in the room started to get annoying by the end of the week. The resort was cute and the store was great. I'm not a fan of the buses though they were very quick and we never had to wait. We like the monorail and boats the best. I would stay again though for a short trip. Thomas wants to stay there again and liked it better than Poly. Also if I couldn't budget deluxe or Moderate then I would be fine staying at Pop, as long as I'm at Disney.

Thanks. The server at PT was great, so was the cake. Right Kaylee's Bday was Saturday. There was no way I couldn't share with them, that would be rude of me.

Thanks. Pop was good and fun for the kids. How are the reviews for Yak and Yeti? I haven't read up on that one much yet. Which ever one you choose I'm sure it will be good. Your trip is getting close :yay: .

Definately try 50's PT, it wa really fun. Our server knew we had rather shy kids so he didn't over do it with the antics. It was just the perfect amount. He mostly picked on me or Tom.

I have no idea what happened to the Hannah cake. It was fine and Kaylee's was happy so I never even asked.

I would stay there again if I wasn't spending lots of down time at the resort or if deluxe wasn't in the budget. It was a very fun place. It is noisier than deluxe but because there are wayy more people. We may try a moderate next trip. Did you like CBR alot? I have no idea which one would be best for us :confused3 I like tropical themes but POFQ is smaller and might be better for us. I also like the idea of CSR but don't want to get stuck in the Rancho's section. Who knows we may go to WL or AKL instead. I thought of rebooking for Setember with the 30% code in the room but the dates won't work with Kaylee being in school.

We went to 50's last time and loved t I am glad you liked it. Sorry that you didn't get the Hannah cake. I am glad that Pop was clean because we are staying there for the first time in June.

We loved 50's PT too. Yes our room at Pop was cleaner than our last room at Poly. It was a fun place, like one of the parks kind of. Have a great trip in  June. I'm ready to go back already.

Hi my trip report readers :goodvibes ,If you notice in my siggie. There is no more Cruise ticker :sad2: . I did end up canceling the cruise. Mostly because of possibly not being able to go this year since my dog sitter situation didn't go well. Also I think Thomas might be too little to really enjoy it. We may end up going in 2009 maybe.

Right now the kids are still enjoying going to Disney and there were lots of tears when we had to leave. So if everything works out with our NJ trip in June then well plan on going to Disney in October again during Kaylee's fall break. I did want to go in November to see the Christmas party but I don't want her to miss a week of school. Also friends of ours from NJ are going during this time too. We don't get to see the much and our girls are the same age so we will get some Disney time with them. They have DVC and are staying at BC. I priced BC and it's al ittle high for us with no discount. I would love to stay there or YC sometime though.

Now I need to book a resort. I'm between WL for deluxe or choosing a moderate. They are $600 different. What moderate do you all like best and think would work best for us? Would love any and all opinions please :) . I even thought about a split stay with Pop/ Poly or BC but DH doesn't want to pack up and move. I really don't either. Our plans are to go to MNSSHP again this year. I'm seeing the parade even if I have to watch it alone  this year.

Sorry to hear you cancelled the cruise - but it will still be there when you are ready! When would you be going in October? I think our dates are 10/15-10/19 - not sure though as the school calendar hasn't come out - just guessing.

Re: moderate resorts - I've stayed at POFQ, CBR and CSR. My favorite of thsoe three was POFQ. I like the smaller size and it was really pretty. We had a bad experience at CBR - it was huge and we were in the furthest building. Also, we had horrible weather and Sam was sick so I'm sure that had something to do with it. I know lots of people like it there. I enjoyed CSR as well - we got lucky and were pretty close to the main buidling though. I enjoyed the food court there.

I don't think I would like a split stay either - I like to get settled and stay that way. It would be great if you could get a code for a deluxe!

well I can let you know after our first family trip in June, as we are staying at POR... The kids saw pictures from someone else TR, and are very excited for the pool... important stuff for the kids ya know :)

Our neighbors always stay at CSR and love it... Your little one would like it, b/c I think there is a big sandbox dig or something like that there??

cant' wait to hear about the "magical moment"
