Just got back :( . We had a blast. Had lime green mickey heads attached to our water bottles and backpack. We didn't see anyone else with Mickey heads but a CM at AK saw us as we were leaving and said "there's only one group I know that uses those!"
Then, while waiting in line to see Millionaire a woman in a lime green shirt asked if I was a DISer and started up a conversation. Turns out it was ILOVEPOOH1 and we had the nicest chat.
I saw plenty of lime green shirts but no mickey heads and I'm just not bold enough to go over to anyone in a green t-shirt to say hi. I'm so glad those who saw my mickeys did! It really brightened my day and made all my cutting, glueing and laminating worth while!

So wear your mickey heads with pride!

Karen

I wasn't creative enough to figure out what to do with the lime green mickey heads. But I did buy the Lime Green key chain and attached it to my fannypack and I bought a Lime Green luggage tag and attached it to my backpack but no one has ever said anything to me and I've never seen anyone with Lime Green yet.

I'll keep trying though!

So, Karen, where do you get these 'lime green Mickey Heads'??

This board is full of great information Moo!

Home Depot is running a line of Behr Paint for Disney. The paint chips that you can take are actually in the shape of Mickey Mouse heads glued to a beige piece of card stock. You want the sonic green ones or alien green. I took the mickey heads, cut them out, glued them together so they were green on both sides, wrote my screen name on them and then laminated them with self laminating sheets from the craft store (in the scrapbooking section).

Wow, sounds like i need to get a life...but it was worth it and it was easy to find our standard black rolling suitcase at the airport baggage carousel!

That would have been me. Sorry, I think I forgot to actually introduce myself.

("Hi, my name is Eric, or SyracuseWolvrine on the DIS" ;))

You know Eric, I actually thought it might have been you...but I think my DH would have killed me if I stopped to talk (once you get me started talking about DIS stuff I get excited and can chat for hours). We had just checked into AKL at like 1am that morning (and it wasn't the best check-in experience) and were up at 6:30 to do EE at AK. By the time we left the park, the kids were fried and wanted nothing more than to jump in the AKL pool for the first time! So I apologize for not stopping to chat longer. That would have been fun.

BTW, I"m a huge Ranger's fan so you know I"m bumming big time about this lockout situation. How are you dealing with it?

Huge Avalanche fan here.....having a hard time not being able to watch hockey.

How neat! I safety pinned 4 or 5 lime green Mickey heads onto my backpack (hopefully it doesn't rain, since they're not laminated, lol). I hope I get to meet someone!

I can understand the kids (and parents) being tired after a long day of travel and park festivities.

As far as the lack of hockey, I've always been a college hockey fan moreso than professional hockey, but I'm missing the NHL.

I got my lime green mickey heads. I put one on my backpack I plan on wearing to the parks and one on my suit case so I know it's mine.

I laminated both using a luggage laminating kit I got at the dollar store 2 laminating cards came in each pack.

Hi Eric! Where exactly do you work? We are from South Bend and I am very familar with Ann Arbor! I actually grew up in Shipshewana! Maybe in Feb. , my family will stop and say hi if we see you! :teeth:

My lime-green Mickey Heads didn't work :(

Had a great time at the World wearing our DIS lime green name tags. Everyday we met at least one DISer, on Holloween night we met a whole bunch (most did not have anything lime green on by the way).
But the really interesting thing was the CMs and other park attendees who do not inhabit the DISboards. Many times in the wait lines people, including CMs, would ask about the name bag and what was DIS. So I got to talk to lots of interesting people, some who said that they would look up the DISboards when they got home.
The past trip was the best for me since the DIS pin opened new doors (literally opened the gate at Haunted Mansion for a group photo) and enabled many conversations with interesting people.
Wear the green, even if you do not find a fellow DISer, you will find enjoyment in talking about the Dis family.
::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: :bounce: :wave2:

This last trip I spotted a DISer and that was it. In past trips I've been spotted by a person or two. I also laminated my Mickey heads after writing my username and DIS on the head. That way there is no doubt who I am.

I'll be watching for you in December, Eric.

It's so much fun to meet other DISers at WDW.

I had my lime green Mickey heads attached to my backpack, my coat (it was chilly in December!), and my fanny pack. I even convinced DH to wear one on his coat (it said "BethC1952's DH), and my granddaughter wore one also. I met lots of DIS'ers (we were there last year during Mousefest). The funniest moment came when someone came when I asked my son to hold the backpack while I ran into a shop. I guess he just wasn't aware of the Mickey head, and was completely mystified by the horrified glance from someone who said "YOU'RE BethC1952? I expected a woman!". My son was at that time 29 years old, and is still laughing over the experience...once he figured out what was going on. He was too embarassed to ask for the DIS'ers name, however, he says that if you're reading this message, he's very sorry if he was slightly rude--something about the fact that his mother is most definitely a woman! This year, he says he won't carry anything that has any lime green on it anywhere!

We were down for Jersey week with our Mickey heads proudly displayed. We met 3 or 4 DIS folks as a result, including one CM in the entertainment department. We met travelgodes at MGM and Franne at MK. We also had a DIS meet at EPCOT and met quite a few folks, including SyracuseWolvrine. Hi Eric:D

So keep wearing those Mickey ears. They do work.

Ohhh! That is so funny.
I've printed the DIS logo and made it into cards that I plastered on my purse. No one ever noticed them before though. But, my DH was afraid someone would notice, so he would not use one.

For the time being, I work at the main entrance turnstyles at AK. However, I may not necessarily be in the same position come Feb, as my College Program is over, and I may end up in a different area. (I am planning to try and stay full time with the company)
