Not a real dog. A real dog has a better life.
This has been "one of those days." If I didn't have a migraine I think I could just deal with it all. We had a new driveway poured yesterday. It looks magnificent--except for the part next to the road where some cretin etched his/her name and a big fat heart. None of us did it ( I had the kids put their names in a different, less obvious place.) It wasn't there last night when the workmen left at 8pm so sometime during the night someone defaced my $5000 driveway. Now granted, it could have been worse. It could have been bad words. But still, I'm angry about it. DH when out there and tried to buff it out, but it's too dark to see now.
Today was Christian's IEP. It's not a bad meeting, it just takes about 2hrs. It's tiring to sit there while everyone has to say their piece. They're having a problem with him pulling his pants down in the classroom. We have the same problem at home, in the kitchen. They warned me that recently a SpEd child was escorted from the mall during a fieldtrip for pulling his pants down in the food court. Yike! We don't need that. I want him to be more independent in his pottying, but we need to find a good reward for pulling pants down only in the bathroom.
Then I started supper--chicken tetrazini. I had sauteed the onions &celery, chopped the turkey meat, and grated the cheese. All ready to add some cream of chicken soup and bake--and there's no cream of chicken soup. I looked and looked--ah HA! There's the empty can on the counter. One of the boys ate it after I left for the IEP. Grrr...there goes dinner. Now what? All I have available is a can of salmon. Salmon patties, it is. Gotta hurry, DD13 has dance in 30 minutes. Doncha just hate having to change your whole dinner menu at the spur of the moment?
Blah...it's rainy and my feet are cold. The one bright spot was I went to the Thrift store and found some Spiderman sheets for Christian's bed. And a book on death & dying. I think I need a little down time.
