I was wondering what you people think about this? I currently have the following lens for pentax 10-17, 16-45 tamron 28-75 and the tamron 70-300di along with a 28 and 43 prime lens. My question and my current LBA fix is do I get a megaZoom 18-250 lens for vacations and carry the primes for night shots or take my existing lens regiment on vacation? So would you take 3 maybe 4 lenses with you one mega and three primes or would you take 4 lenses and maybe one prime? :confused3

We recently went on a trip to Greece. Out of 696 photos, I used a 18-55mm on 685 images. The others were shots using a 70-300mm. I find using a wider lens more useful for this type of vacation. But, it really depends on where you are going and what type of photos you intend to capture.

Just remember, if you carry it everywhere, it'll get heavy after a time. Also remember, people of other cultures may not like to have a big lens pointed at them.

MY take, if I was going to be taking 3 or 4 lenses they might as well all be primes. I thunk ZOOMs and especially mega zooms were supposed to cut down on the number of lenses we carried not add to it.

Seriously if you are satisfied with the optical quality of the mega, take that and a tripod for night shots. Even with primes a tripod would be a strong recommendation, so may as well cut them out if you have the mega.

unless you really want to buy another lens I'd go with the

tamron 28-75 and the tamron 70-300di

and throw in one of these if you do much wide shooting

10-17, 16-45
