My kitty is sick!!

I am absolutly freaking out! This morning, my cat Trinity was laying around looking not-so-hot, and when I got back from work this afternoon, he still wasn't looking good, so I called the vet to ask if they could squeeze him in, which they did. My poor boy has a temperature of 105!!! The vet is about 90% sure that he has this disease (not Lyme, something else) carried by ticks, that is almost 100% fatal, and, here's the real kicker, if he does have that, then my OTHER three kitties probably have it too! I just lost my dad 2 months ago, I can't lose my cats, too! I'm praying like crazy that he just has some kind of bug, and that it's not the tick thing! I don't know what to do, my cats are my world!

Hope everything is ok for your kitties. I just lost my itty bitty kitty in March, she was 15 and had been sick for awhile with thyroid problems, but it was still heartbreaking.... I hate hearing when pets are sick. They can't really tell us what's wrong.

Thanks, guys. I'm still worried like crazy, but I have hope! My poor boy is supposed to turn 1 year old on the 17th, with his sister and brother. I am praying that they all make it!

I just got back from visiting Trinity at the vet this morning- he looks so strange with the IV hooked up to his leg! I talked with the vet that's on duty today (a different one from yesterday), and he's not as sure that it's the disease the first vet thought. He said with the disease (Called something like cytozoa? I'm so upset it's all going in one ear and out the other!), they usually just lay around, but Trin has been up and bouncing around this morning (He seemed almost normal when I was there!), plus anemia usually goes with the disease, and Trin isn't anemic. Very good signs! He also ate three spoonfulls of cat food whlie we were there! His fever was up to 106.3 this morning, though! My poor boy!

At least the vet today gave us some hope!

That totally sucks, PolyPrincess. I'm sorry that it had to happen to you. I hope your other two kitties are ok. I know how hard it is to lose a furling.
