We are going back December 2013. My boys will be 9 and turning 6 that week. They have chosen a resort at each level of course haha out of all of the choices on property they picked Art of Animation, Coronado Springs and Wilderness Lodge. Which would you choose and why? :)

Because it's a December trip, Wilderness Lodge. It is gorgeous and especially decorated for Christmas!

I agree with the pp and my choice would also be the WL. The WL is beautiful any time of year, but is amazing all decorated for Christmas :santa:. The lobby is so inviting with the huge tree in the center and the fireplace surrounded by rocking chairs :cloud9:. We also love taking the boat to MK, as well as to the CR for shopping, dining, or just visiting and then hopping on the monorail to visit the Poly and GF. For us, it would be the WL without question ;).

I'm not a huge WL fan but agree, it's breathtaking during the holidays. WL for sure.

Thanks. May I ask why your not a fan? Just not your style or is there a big downside to the resort

I haven't stayed at WL in a long long time but when we were there they had

arts and crafts
cookie decorating
duck races
chalk art
movies at night
a few more things that i can't remember

Ohh nice! I'll look into that!

We stayed at the lodge in february for our 1st family trip to Disney and my girls loved it. They can't wait to go back. They also enjoyed dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and said it's on their to go back list.

I would pick WL too. WL and Poly are the two places I still want to try. That said, we're staying at CSR this Dec. we were there in Dec. 2009 too. We chose CSR because of the size of our family. We get two connecting rooms. if we were a smaller family or could afford the suite, we would choose WL for the Xmas decorations, proximity to MK and monorail resorts, the activities for kids, and the theming.

WL for its great location near MK and Xmas decorations. Next choice would be AOA.

I go every year the week after Thanksgiving. One year, I did an all resorts, no parks trip and got to almost every single resort.

I am really interested to see how they decorate AoA for Xmas this year!

The Wilderness Lodge because at Christmas, there is NOTHING like it in all the WORLD

Yay!!!! Really? Ok great!!! I'm going to book this!!! Do they do anything special or it's just the decor and atmosphere? Any room view you'd suggest we book?

Get a bunk bed room! We stayed there last Sept when our kids were 9 and 7 and they loved it. I had reserved a Woods View, but we got upgraded to Courtyard View. I really think either view is fine.

We didn't take part in any of the activities, but the kids loved the pool and arcade, and we really enjoyed Roaring Forks and Whispering Canyon.

I think the best value for the money out of those three would be Coronado Springs. Gorgeous resort with a large pool and nicely appointed rooms.

I didn't see many people in 'suits' or anything would would "ruin the magic" as I often see people post here about CSR. I'd rather see a business person in a suit than a person in their skimpy vacation clothes, fanny pack, and crocs.
