So JC Penney called to tell me that they won't be able to print the pictures of my kids (DD6, DD4, DS 9 months). Something about the film being put in the wrong way and now any pictures taken that day have to be redone. I am so bummed about this. For one thing, it was quite a feat getting them all to the studio, doing three individual shots and the together ones. These were my son's first "portraits" (he's my third, so don't yell at me for just getting them now). Plus, getting my oldest daughter to smile for the camera is like pulling teeth. My middle girl is a ham, so she looked great as usual. The shots looked so good on screen and I was thrilled to have a successful time.

Now, we have the option to do them again or get refunded. I'll definitely reschedule the baby, but not sure if I should just take my own "portrait" of the three of them. I don't know how to feel about this mishap either. My only complaint was that the poses were pretty bland. But given they all smiled, I was happy. Now I'm angry, disappointed, laughing, sighing...all over the place. I guess I needed to vent. Thanks everyone.

I'm so sorry! How frustrating for you. I had a falling out with Penney's last Christmas. The regional manager (I complained up high!) gave me all sorts of free stuff to come back. When I did, things were still really bad so we turned around and left. Now we boycott their portrait studio. I hope you try again. Sounds like the three of them altogether would be really cute!

Not only should they refund your money, but they should retake the pictures and give them to you free of charge for your inconvenience.

ITA. I would see if I could talk to a manager before your reschedule and explain your heartache and disappointment to her/him (tell that what you told us). Tell them that you feel some sort of compensation is in order because of this. I am sorry for you, I would be feeling sad, disappointed and mad too.

Sorry this happened to you. We had the same problem with Sears last year. My SIL drove 2 hours so we could get pictures of my nephew and my kids together. The thing that upset me was they did not call us until the day before I was supposed to pick them up which was Dec 7th. It was too late to reschedule because they take 3 weeks to develop. I just went and had my money refunded.

Gosh, I really doubt that this would happen. These sort of things happen to all of us now and then. Just think, maybe the retakes will be much better!

This happened to us a couple years ago! I was so irritated.

I thought Penny's uses digital stuff now so if the pictures don't look right you can get them fixed immediately. Hope things work out with the new ones.

We finally took our own pictures this year using our digital camera. Sure, the kids squirmed a bit, but we got an acceptable picture in about 15 minutes and had no wait, no germs, etc. I downloaded the photos to Costco's website, cropped them, picked out photo Christmas cards, etc. and ordered them all in my jammies after the kids went to bed. I was able to pick everything up the next day at Costco with no wait. Get this -- I got 50 photo Christmas cards with envelopes, 5 8" x10"s, 14 5" x 7"s, 8 4" x 5"s and 8 wallets for less than $40!

How disappointing :guilty: I sympathize with you whole-heartedly. It's quite a trick to get three little kids dressed and smiling for their Christmas pictures. I think I'd just get the baby's pic redone and take some snaps of all three playing together at home.

btw--I don't have many pics of my #3 either. I guess we qualify for the Bad Parents Club now.

I've had issues with Sears this year, too. We've always had good success with them in the past, but this year their "server is down" at our store, so they can't get the pictures on the internet, print out proof sheets, create disks, or anything. They were able to print our pictures at the lab, but they cut the kids' feet off of the full length picture and made the close up picture too "red." It looks like all three kids have bright lipstick on. But the day I picked the pictures up the place was a mad house and I've had such a bad experience anyway that I just gave up and took them.

Oooooh I would be mad!!!!!!!!!! No advise but hugs, I know how hard it is to get all the kids together for a good picture.
