My kids are so average...

It's almost embarrassing. People stop me in the streets and supermarkets to tell me how average my kids are. I hope it all doesn't go to their heads. I guess I will just have to try as best as I can to keep them as grounded and normal as possible. Being a parent can be so hard, especially the parent of a completely average child.

I've never understood why people start threads with the sole purpose of making fun of another thread or poster. I just don't get it. But its becoming the way of the Dis.

If you don't like what's going on in another thread then either post there to and say so, or ignore it. But why go out of your way to make fun of other posters?

I don't know what thread this refers but I wanted to mention that I discovered how average our son is when he tried applying for scholarships. It's not easy for an average kid to win any of those.

Actually, he's well beyond average in my eyes.

Threads like this I think are funny because they basically parodies and parody done well is funny. The threads I don't like are the passive aggressive ones like this. It is a fine line between the two but this one is an example of the former.

Despite my brief loss of perspective yesterday I don't see anything wrong with making fun or stuff.

I think it's funny. I also think my children are beautiful, tho most of the rest of the world probably would think they are average, maybe above average, whatever. That's okay with me.

Why can we only celebrate above average or below average kids? I think it's about time that the snowflakes and dewdrops of the world made room for some lovin' of the flurries!
