We just came back from a wonderful 8 day trip to DL. It was my DS (3 1/2) first trip. DH, Grandma and Papa and uncle came too. I cannot tell you how much fun we had, but then again, all of you know.;) My son is definitely a Disney-kid.

He and the rest of us want to go back ASAP. Of course, there are money contraints, especially since we have to fly from Hawaii. I long to take him back before the end of the year, but probably will have to settle for fall of 2005.

How do you deal with a situation like this? How do you possibly explain to a toddler that he'll have to wait until next year, when he doesn't even get the concept of time?

And what do you do with yourself and your kid and your parents, until you can start planning your next trip to Disney?

We're all having a much more difficult time dealing with this than I thought, ok, maybe me more than anyone else. :teeth:

Help us cope!

And thanks for being a great source of entertainment, information and understanding everyday. princess:

I don't have any answers for you, but I just wanted you to know that I completely understand!! We just returned from our week-long WDW trip on Saturday. It is such a let-down to come home. DH wants me to start planning the next trip NOW. And DD (3.5) doesn't understand why we can't go back immediately.

Friends of ours who aren't Disney-aholics don't get it, but there just isn't anyplace that offers such a fun time for EVERYONE!

Our DD loves Disney. She has been 4 times before she turned 3. After our last trip (just before she turned 3) It occured to us that she could ask for it now. When we came for she wanted to go back to the resort room (she called it our Disney home.) She asked for about a month. She still talks about WDW, it is her favoite place to take imaginary trips to. I am currenlty pregnant and we told her we have to wait until the baby is born to go. Our next trip is planned for March 2005 when the baby will be 6 months old. I am a little fearful I will come home from the hospital this Aug and DD will be ready to head out to WDW.

As a side note we just took a family trip to Vero Beach DVC resort. We flew into Orlando, but didn't plan on doing any WDW. When we 1st got to the airport she started talking about all she would see at WDW. We reminded her this trip was to Disney Beach and we would do WDW later. It does get easier, she seems to understand and acept this fine now.

Well once we got to Orlando we (the parents) were so excited to be there we headed to Y&B club for lunch. We were walking around, pointing out the Epcot Ball etc.... Well she asked us, "When are we going to Disney Beach? I want to go now." It was funny. She had so much fun at the beach she didn't miss WDW at all (we did.) We did got to DTD on the last day before heading out to the airport.

Look at pictures, look at maps how far away it is. Talk about it. And then enjoy the lovely area you are at now. (I would love to go there, but don't want to do the flight!)

Oh and what do we do? We hang out on the disboards and talk about it!
