My IRS Rebate Check Arrived!!!!!!!

I just got my mail and my rebate check for $1200 arrived. I think some of the checks were mailed out of Philadelphia and since I only live an hour away I recieved mine today!!!!!!!!!! :

Thanks Pres. Bush for letting me have some of my $$$ back!! I promise I'll be stimulating the economy with it!!

Yes - It's called --> Advance 'Child' Tax Credit (at most you will receive $400/child).

We too got our check- thank you - it's our food money at Disneyworld!!! I'm not even going to cash it until close to our trip- It was a great bonus not to have to "budget" for food this year. And what better way to stimulate the economy than eating out at Disney!

Haven't rec'd ours yet. However, I was talking to my husb about it the other day, and he said, "Bet I can guess where it's all going.....Disney." What a smart man he is! He always jokes that that's the only reason I stay married to him...so that I can have someone to go to Disney with!

We got our letter today and are hoping to get our check before we leave friday. If we do, that will pay off our airfare(it's on a cc)and our whole trip will be paid for!!! No credit card balances! woo hoo!

I'm confused about whether I will get a check or not. I have kids, but they were not in day care. Is the rebate only for parents who paid for day care while they worked? Or am I eligible for a rebate by just claiming my kids as dependents on my taxes?

forgot all about it and hadnt been on here to see all of the excitement got the letter yesterday and the 800.00 check today we fly out of kc on monday am. for wdw food money instead of charges to come home to glad i forgot all about it

Got both the letter and the $400 check in the mail last Saturday!!!
Even though DS-age 19-was not the reason for the check(little sis was) he will still benefit by it. I am going to buy him a bed for his 1st APT!!! My BABY is moving out....
Bless his heart...he has been sleeping in the same bunkbeds he has had since he was 4. Now he gets a full size bed!!!

Stupid question, if you child is in college is he still considered a dependent? Or is it just for kids under 18. I have one who is 15 and one over 18. I am sure the answer is "no" but am still curious.
