My Idea For A Fifth Gate

Whenever Disney "retired" a popular attraction,it would be rebuilt in the fifth Park.:)

The fifth Park would be a "mismash" of the other 4 Parks.

Guests could ride Mr. Toad,Horizons and World of Motion and then hop on the Skyway and head over for an Off Kilter or British Invasion show and follow that up with a few rounds of Who Wants To be A Millionaire-Play It! .

SpectroMagic would wind through the Park each night and,of course, the Holidays would feature Lights Of Winter and The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights.:)

The Park would be called "Disney's Nostalgia Kingdom".

It is a WAY OUT there idea, but I bet that Park would be POPULAR!:)

I have always thought they should do this. It just seems wasteful not to. I get a kick when I recognize past parade floats being used at places (the spitting camels at MK and lion king floats at AK). I visit the carousel of progress every time fearing it will be the last.

I get why they need to update things. People go every year, and with annual pass holders, they want to see new stuff or they'll get bored and stop going. But there are people who only go every couple of years, or once every decade, and look forward to experiencing what they did before, or even as a kid, only can't. I remember as a kid in the 80s loving Captain EO when I went for the first time in 1988. When I came back in 1994, it was gone. It wasn't there in 2009 when we went, but earlier this year it was, so I made absolutely sure my family would see it, even my 2yo daughter. I knew she wouldn't care, but I still wanted her to experience it, and feared it would be gone when she was older. And that's the thing. Parents who experienced these attractions as children want their kids to experience the same, even if 3D isn't that big of a deal anymore.

Oh my gosh! How perfectly wonderful that park would be. I would be estatic if they did that!!!!!! Bring it on Disney! :-D :-D :-D

This is an interesting idea. Would be a nostalgic trip down Disney history.

However, I like the idea (not an original one from me.....heard it from Pete first) of a Villain's park! You could actually move Fantasmic to that park, where it might fit better. You could have "Scar's scary" rollercoaster ride................or Iago's flying birds, done in the same vane as Dumbo or the Flying Carpets! The could be a Capt Hook's tour of his lair pirate:done as Jungle Cruise is done. There are so many castles to choose from...........but I would make Jack Skelington's castle the centerpiece where it could serve as the focus for both Halloween and Christmas! As a grand finale each night Mickey and Friends could come and save the day! I'm just spit balling here :groom:

The bottom line is many of us feel a 5th gate is probably gonna be needed............its just a matter of what it is!:rainbow:

Doug :goofy:

I don't think we need a fifth gate when there are so many gaps at the parks now. How about rebuilding Tomorrowland in Magic kingdom and putting more countries in World Showcase at Epcot first before we do a fifth gate? Epcot is going to be fourth in attendance and decreasing in attendance in three years if they don't get more than Frozen Ever After. The only thing in Tomorrowland that interests me is TTA and Buzz Lightyear's Space ranger spin.

A bunch of outdated attractions would not really appeal to first timers...or anybody born in the last 20-30 years.

I dunno, The Legend of the Lion King show was a zillion times better than Philharmagic. But then again, it was probably more expensive to run and maintain than just some movie, but I always saw large crowds. Surprised they kept Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Guess they already had 3 3D/4D attractions there already and realized that a 4th might tick people off

Voyage of the Little Mermaid looks very dated...the parts the show from the movie look like they're being projected from a film strip!

I like Phillharmagic, but I liked the Lion King show too. I wouldn't pay $100 to go to another park to see it, though.

And Disney's Nostalgia Kingdom's Icon would be The Hat of course!:)

Never liked the hat for an icon at MGM. Nor did I like Tower of Terror. It's the Earful tower, or nothing. But I would totally be ok with a trading pin store disguised as a sorcerer's hat for a nostalgia icon

There won't be a fifth park. I mean get a life people!!! (reference to SNL Star Trek skit)

Really it's just not gonna happen while 3 of the 4 parks need major work. Sure Avatar and Star Wars/Toy Story will fix up AK and DHS, but that won't be finished until 2020. They just did New Fantasyland. The next thing they'll work on (besides more and more DVC) has to be Epcot. You're looking at 2030 before they'd even start talking about expansion again. And by that time Florida will be entirely under water!

A villains park would be awesome...but I don't think it fits with the theme of Disney (where all ages can enjoy the park). Villains park seems too scary for the little ones.

A classic rides park seems OK but I think most people want something new and a cohesive theme. Don't ask me what the theme could be because I don't have any idea. You got fantasy/adventure/frontier/tomorrowland, you got future world and international showcase, you got movies and you got animals. What's left?

I guess this is why I'm not an imagineer. I have no imagination.

Guess you're right. They really NEED to fix up EPCOT. A nostalgia park could also help with that.
