I get all the women's magazines, including Glamour, Lady's Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, etc. My husband reads these magazines but his friends and family laugh at him when they see him reading them. They call him a wimp, nerd, fem, and other terms not worth saying on this family board.

My husband says there are tons of articles in these "WOMENS MAGAZINES" that relate to both men and women and that Men's magazines are junk. Is there something wrong when my husband reads these women's magazines?

I don't think there's anything wrong with him reading magazines like that. I bet he's more intuned to your needs than his friends and family are because he's learned from those magazines how to be a real man.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Now, if I caught him reading a risque female magazine, I'd worry.

Just thought I would give you a link to yesterday's question on the rude and unfriendly folks in urban northeast USA, Chub, lots of good thoughts there for you. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=501078. And what is 'an exclusive company' that you mentioned in that thread, I have never heard that term before? As for today's question, I say, who cares, not me.

Nothing wrong with it at all. We usually buy a selection when we are at the airport going on holiday and I love reading them. We also discuss some of the articles in them.

They're great just to pick up for a short read and they have some really good recipes, etc. I also read a weekend newspaper, books and a monthly computer magazine.

Real men read women's magazines.:teeth:

DH will read one of my magazines on occasion, he's even watched a movie on Lifetime

Unless it's Playgirl (or something like it) I wouldn't worry.

I usually pick up a few of those magazines and they end up being bathroom reading. DH reads some of them and has to laugh at all the 'improve your sex life stuff'! He's surprised that I read them at all, because I'm not a 'girly girl', lol.

An insecure man has to PROVE he is a man...my wife get womans mags...and I sometimes read the articles in them.....
Keeps me in tune with some of the womans issues.......
That whole macho image.....blow it away...it's mostly a front....If a
man is a man...he needs to prove it to no one.

I read my DH and DS's hunting, fishing, and Boys Life magazines - what does that me??? :rotfl:

Many articles in women's magazines are written by men so why can't other men read them? I don't agree with the family of this man calling him names. How rude!
