My husband asked me a question today....(Updated!)

Why do you remember every single stupid thing that ever came out of my mouth?
Even years down the line, you still remember that bone headed remark I made and repeat it back verbatim whenever you get mad?

YET............

If I dont tell you I love you and how gorgeous you are daily you promptly forget??

Poor men and what they have to deal with!

Don't feel bad. Men typically do not remember things the way women do. We remember lots of stuff but the things we remember are not very specific and certainly do not tend to be things that were discussed in a conversation. The important thing here seems to be that he loves you and you know it. He said something long ago that really meant something to you in a negative way. It must not have been addressed adequately at the time it was thrown out and so it lingered in your mind. He has done as much as he is probably going to do toward making up and saying that he is sorry for this. It seems that you are beating him up over this issue over and over again when you should get past this. I say this not as much for him as for you.

lol...well I must have a woman's memory..I remember EVERYTHING. I can quote just about anything I have ever read or watched. I remember verbatim the most random things from my own personal experiences. Its so weird...anytime some can't remember something or a group of us are sitting around remenising (sp?) I am the go to guy....I enjoy that title! Bu I never forget anything..its sad really.

I reworded my post a bit.... I am not *really*bugging my poor hubby as bad as I made it sound.... I was trying to get across how ironic it is sometimes that when I get feeling blue I end up asking with bug puppy eyes "Do you love me?" (When I know full well he does).

I told him I need to hear that a lot and thats when he made the comment about how I can remember the stupid things he says without fail but need reminders of the good things constantly...

He and I both thought that was funny, yet true!

LOL! I am right there with you! DH says my biggest fault is my self esteem! Yet, my memory is outstanding!


If you look at it though..we balance each other out. I mean, he can remember to compliment me..but he completely forgets when he is asked to do the dishes!

I remember Dr.Phil bringing this up on one of his shows. He said that woman will remember something someone said YEARS ago and a man will forget in a relatively short period of time. It's so incredibly true. I remember nasty things my mom said WAY long ago when I was young.
