My house smells like the Yacht Club lobby - hooray!

I only bought one. I think if you are looking to cover a wide area, you might need to purchase their more expensive system (It's on the website). The description for the one I bought says it's recommended for a bedroom, cubicle, I think they say 200 square feet?

But that being said, my "living area" sounds similar to yours -- kitchen / dining / living area combined (I live in a condo). That is where I plugged the system in, and I do smell it. It's not strong, but kind of faint (just like at the YC actually!) So I figure if I ever want to smell it "stronger", I'll move it into my bedroom and just have the scent there! Either way I figure it's a win win!

Thanks for the info. I don't want it too strong or over powering, a nice light subtle scent is perfect. Do you know how long the refill pack that it comes with lasts? a month? less or longer? I'm thinking that I may need to purchase two to cover my living area (I live in a 2,100 sq. ft. house), but only really want to cover the main living spaces, not bedrooms. That is still cheaper than their bigger unit, even if I have to purchase two systems and two refill packs per month, that's still $10 cheaper than the refill for the large unit, assuming the refill packs for the small unit will last the whole month. Thanks again for the info. Enjoy your YC smelling house!!!

Thank you for the information. I too will be sniffing around next time I go to the BC or YC. Any idea what they use at the Poly?

I have emailed the company asking what scent , if any, they used for the lobby of the Poly.

Im still waiting on a reply but my money is on South Sea Island also.

If I were you, I would try to get a hold of someone at the actual Poly. The manager at the YC was who got me the scent name from their lobby. Worth a try anyway! Maybe someone on the Poly thread who has a trip coming up would be willing to pose the question!

Call me impulsive. After reading this thread this morning, I went to the mentioned company's website and purchased the scent machine with the recommended BC scent. That said, I've never been to the BC, but am booked there for next September (actually exactly one year from today). What happens if I don't like the smell? Cancel my ressies?...:lmao:

Thanks OP! I looked into this a few years back when the bigger system was quite expensive. I think the one Vicki C. had I looked at. I think I need something a little bigger than you have yet not quite what Vicki C. has. When I look at their website, I can't tell which system they have that would be slightly bigger than yours? Do you know? thanks!

Hi Mel - I have the Scent HD thing they're calling it now. Just for comparison. It scented the whole downstairs of my house to a nice amount - not overwhelming but definitely noticeable (darn - I miss it). We put it in our family room and also have the open family room, eating area, kitchen floorplan.

I'm not looking @ the link right now but when I looked at it yesterday, I thought I remembered seeing something that said something about double the size of the smallest one - and I'm not talking about the one I have. Maybe I'm making that up though! :rotfl:

Holy Moses! I did this with lotion (I only wear a certain lotion when I go to disney...or on cruises or whatever...)But to have our home smell like GF (where we are staying for our wedding night) would be AWESOSME! And the poly! I've died and gone to heaven...

Waiting to see what those scents are...:surfweb: Or will ask when I am there...

Thanks Vicki C! But man those refills are crazy expensive! 40 a month?? I really like the unit though but may opt for the smaller one to try it...Thanks for the information!Mel

That's why we only did a year! When I did it you had to sign up for a year and you got the machine for free - not sure if it still works that way or not. But I plan on re-subscribing at some point.

I had a rep call me today but I wasn't able to call back. He wants to meet w/ me. Ya know? I only have a home business, for just me. I honestly don't want to have to clean everything up and have him come in to see it. I'll report what I find out.

I just wanted to add one piece of follow-on review. When I made the original post the other day, I had used the system for 1 day. Now it has been several more days, and I think the scent in those beads wears out fast. I can't smell it much anymore. I have not put in a "fresh" set of beads yet, and don't know how long they are supposed to last, but they don't last too long. And I didn't have the system turned on at night or anything.

Just thought I'd share my experience. Knowing this, I wouldn't change my purchase, it's still wonderful even if the scent doesn't last forever!

It could be you are use to the smell as well. I use to work in a restaurant that all I smelled was fried chicken and after a while the scent was so faint to me.....So maybe you are accustomed to it?

Has anyone looked into purchasing any of these machines lately? I purchased the cheapest one back in Sept. 2010 and only have two refill packs left. I wanted to purchase a pack of refills and purchase another machine to put in a different part of my house. It looks like they've discontinued the cheaper machine. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this or if I'm looking at the wrong website or something????

It's funny you mentioned the scent green clover and aloe. Bath and Body Works used to sell a scent green clover and aloe (shower gel, lotion etc. ) They may still have it at the outlet store, that's where I bought my last one. Anyway, I brought it with me on a disney trip and now whenever I smell it I'm reminded of disneyworld. I rarely use it at home because it's my "disney smell", although I do use it when I want to be cheered up, or want to feel "disney ".:flower3:

I LOVE the scent at the BC! I want one too:lovestruc I can't get one to Canada:sad1: I went to a candle part the other night and WOW the smell of this candle so reminded me of the BC! I had to buy a dozen ( only tealight size):rotfl: Also smelled a few others and ordered those too! I so would LOVE one of the scent machines:sad1:

Anyway, I will be happy when my candles arrive!

I'm not sure, but I had contacted a rep from Scentaire this summer and he was not a good rep at all. Blew me off repeatedly and then took weeks to get back to me after cancelling our meeting last minute by leaving a voicemail. God thing i actually HEARD that message, about an hour before he was due. I decided to go w/ a Bath & Body Scentbug. Which is ok, but honestly, too light IMO. But MAN, I'd want a Disney scent. What are these refuill packs like for the Scentaire machines? Is there a way you can get essential oils out of them so you can use it in another machine like the Scentbug?

I actually ordered my machine from enviroscent, it was an extention company of Scentaire. I didn't have to meet with anyone. Just went online and ordered the machine. Now when I go on their website I can't find the machine I ordered. I sent an email to customer service so hopefully I'll hear back from them. I'll be disappointed if I spent $50 on a machine just 4 months ago that will be useless now if they've discontinued it. The refills are a pack of hard beads. The reason I went with this particular machine was because packs of refills were only $15, and should last for a good while, I'd say 4 to 6 months if used carefully.
