Ok, I just have to give props to the woman that I love. She is giving me the gift of a wonderful vacation this year in honor of my 40th birthday.

For starters, we are going to drive down to Savannah to spend the night and we will have lunch at The Lady & Sons, which is Paula Deen's restaurant. Gabby has been raving about the food there for over a year, since she and her Mom have gone there a couple of times when they have met in Savannah for some Mother-Daughter bonding time. So, I will finally be able to say that I ate at Ms. Paula's place. The evening will be capped off with a Ghost Tour of Savannah including a meal at the Pirate House. I have always secretly wanted to do a Ghost Tour, but I just never really have given into the idea before. It seems silly and frivolous, but it's October and Savannah...it just sort of seems right. No to mention that there are pirate:'s!

The next day, we drive down to Cocoa Beach. Our hotel is right on the ocean! I can't wait to take a night time stroll on the beach with Gabby like we used to do when we lived in Daytona. The following morning, Gabby will be fullfilling a lifelong wish and learn how to surf. If she likes it enough, she is going to buy a surfboard and try to work out some weekend trips throughout the year to go pursuit it for fun and relaxation.

After the surfing is done, we drive to Orlando. The following morning, we are going to Discovery Cove, where we both fullfill our lifelong dreams of swimming with the Dolphins! The day at Discovery Cove sounds like so much fun! I just can't wait!

After Discovery Cove, it's over to Disney! We are staying at AKL in a Savannah View room! :woohoo: I have always wanted to stay there! Our original plans for this trip had us staying at POR, but AKL is a dream upgrade that Disney would most likely not provide.

We will have several days to play in the parks and enjoy the best of the Food & Wine Festival. We decided against going to MNSSHP again this year. It was a good time last year, but with all of the other really special things that we are doing on this trip, MNSSHP really just doesn't have to be a part of the plans.

Basically, Gabby is spoiling the heck out of me for my 40th and making it an event to really look forward to, which is much different than how I had been viewing the event in the past. After almost 8 years together, it just never ceases to amaze me that anyone can love me as much as she does.

I am so freakin' lucky! Maggie

Sounds wonderful. Looks like she is making your 40th one to remember.

Happy 40th !!!

Sounds like a once in a lifetime trip , I wish you guys a safe and wonderful time.

Happy, Birthday :bday:party:party:party:

Wow. That sounds really wonderful!

Adopt me immediately.

Oh, I am soooo sorry, but we agreed on not have kids that were not four legged.
Also, since we have 8 of those already, we have agreed that we can't afford anymore. Sorry! ;)

I can't wait for this trip! Maggie

PS. Do you know that it cost a small fortune to board 4 Chihuahuas at the vet? I about died when they told me that it was going to be over $1000. :faint:

Thanks the birthday happens on a day that we plan to visit AK and finish the day at MK. The only thing that I ask of this entire trip is that I get to see Wishes on 11/02. It's my favorite thing at Disney!

With all of the other cool stuff outside of Disney, I believe that you are right, this is a once in a lifetime trip! Maggie

Happy Birthday and congratulations! pixiedust:
It sounds like you're going to have a real celebration to remember! So lucky!!
Live it up and be glad you found someone so special! :love2:

Happy Birthday!!! You are LUCKY!!! Gabby sounds like a keeper.

I totally feel your pain about boarding. We went to Disney last September and boarded 1 dog and it was expensive enough. I can't imagine boarding 4!!! Good luck!!!

Wow! We pay a person who comes to our house for 8 days, three times/day half that amount!

Do you know any dog sitters?

No kidding -- you need to find one STAT.

Happy birthday! And Congrats on having such a sweet honey! :goodvibes

I would totally be ok with using a dog sitter service. Gabby on the other hand has trust issues that prevent her from being comfortable with the idea.

We need to board them with a vet this time. Our vet's office boarding facility is really bad. So, we are changing vets soon. Beanie and Deuce both have health issues. Both are on meds.

When we boarded them at the PetsHotel for 4 nights last year it was $526 for the 4 of them, so the new vet's office is actually cheaper. Maggie

Sounds like a great trip!! When we move up north, we are making a plan to stop over night in Savannah...just to eat at Lady and Sons. Let me know what you think
