This is the third night he's been missing. :sad1:

Tif, my beautiful long-haired black cat, was adopted from a no-kill animal shelter about six years ago. Apparently, he had been at the shelter for about 6 months before he came to live with us. He was scared and shy at first and fought with my other cats. He became kind of a bully.

However, with A LOT of patience and a lot of love, Tif (short for Turd Ferguson from his mean days ;) ), became such a sweet cat and a mama's boy. He followed me around like a puppy dog. My other cats grew to love him and he loved them back. He became such an affectionate little fellow and loved to lay on my desk while I DISed every day. Now I'm sitting here with a heavy heart. Tif is not here with me. DISing is not the same.

I let TIf outside the other night like I always do. He usually hangs around our house or my neighbor's house. They like him too. Anyway, a thunderstorm was approaching our city so I tried calling for him. He had been outside for about an hour. I couldn't find him. I knew at that moment that something was wrong. It wasn't like him to not run to me. The storm came through. I could only hope he was safe, hiding out somewhere. I was up most of the night calling and looking for him. It's been three days now.

I've called the animal shelter, gone door to door, called local vets, and put up flyers. I don't know what else to do. I am so heartbroken and I can't stop crying. He may be "just a cat" to some people but he's my little buddy. Please send some good thoughts this way in hope that he'll find his way back home. Thanks!

I am so sorry. :grouphug: I hope he comes home soon.

I get all upset if my cat (who is an indoor cat) accidentally gets outside, even though I know she won't go farther than 10 feet from the house. I would be such a wreck if she was gone for days.

I really hope you find Tif safe and sound. I know he is not "just a cat" to you. If my dog disappeared, I would be absolutely devestated, because he is not "just a dog", but part of our family. :grouphug:

If you are friendly with any of the neighborhood kids, ask them if they've seen Tif. Also, see if you could take some time off of work...hang out at your house. Look for any joggers or walkers or bikers who go by - ask them if they've seen your cat.

Good luck - P&PD,
agnes!

:grouphug: I hope he shows up soon. I'll say an extra prayer for him tonight.

Never "just a cat". I hope he comes home soon. :guilty:

I'm so sorry to hear that your beautiful cat is missing.

I've been through that before and it is very hard.

I hope he comes home very soon. Don't give up hope yet.

Is he home yet? We live in a townhouse complex and my DD's cat was missing for almost 2 weeks when he turned up enough for DD & her hubby to grab him.

I hope you find your kitty soon. Did you search around the house and under things he might be closer then you think. I would be a mess if my kitty got lost. He's so special to me!

Meeko went missing last May and was gone five months!! We got him back thanks to some kind strangers who never gave up looking for us. We never gave up either. Even after 5 months we were still putting up missing signs.

Offer a large reward if you can and don't give up!!

Please keep us posted. My heart is breaking for you. :guilty:

Oh I hope you find your baby, that just breaks my heart. Please keep us updated and hope you are hugging that kitty SOON. :grouphug:

praying you and tif are reunited soon,,, i know shadow was missing for 9 days shortly after i went back to work, and i was a wreck. dw's kitty once went missing for 6 weeks, she got out during a storm and ended up in a nieghbors car, was found by a friends kids,, 4 miles from home ,, dw called me home from work when they called saying they had her and were on thier way to the house.

soo if you are friendly with the nieghbors, ask if any have seen him in the areas they work in, and check around the local schools,,,

I feel your pain hon. My coco (who is waiting for me at the end of the rainbow now) did the exact same thing just a year or so after we got her. Even the same circumstances. She was missing for a month I cried every day. She was finally returned to me by some friends who were on the other side of town and one of their kids saw her out the window of their car. They brought her home and we were so happy to see each other. Apparently she had gotten into a neighbors car to get out of the storm and stayed there till the next morning (She was terrified of storms). The neighbor got into their car went to work and coco apparently got out at the place she worked. She didn't roam far from the place I don't suppose because that is where they found her. The neighbor never knew she had gotten into the car or out of it.

I put an ad in the paper and we have a little morning radio show where you can call in to buy, sell, lost and found kinda thing.

Don't worry cats are pretty smart creatures he may just be what we call in the south "OUT CATTIN" even our shadow kitty goes "OUT CATTIN" and he is neutered. He came up missing for 8 days one time he finally came home dirty and scratched up but fine as wine otherwise.

I'm so sorry but don't give up! One of our cats disappeared for a night and then someone posted on a local forum that they had found a friendly cat that fit our cat's description and had taken him in. Then another poster suggested that he might belong to a neighbor and the next thing I knew, he was at the door. The good part is that he doesn't take off like that any more.

So keep a positive thought because hopefully your cat is just out visiting.

Thank you all for you thoughts and concerns. They mean so much to me. :grouphug:

My black and white cat, Shamu keeps looking for Tif. He knows something is wrong. My little gray kitten (well, she's 2 years old now) keeps looking for him as well. She always cuddled up next to him at night. Tif was the perfect 'big brother' for Lucy. I won't give up hope just yet.
