I have just spent time looking through dozens of posts to find this answer, but finally gave up. Hope someone can help--

I need VB for two nights (38 pts) in Dec. of this year. I am afraid to wait until the 7 month window when I could use my points from my BCV or SSR contract, although I do have points available. What is my best choice? Do I rent from someone who owns at VB? If I get points transferred from someone who owns there, do they remain VB points, or do they turn into BCV/SSR points?

Either method should work. If you have VB points transferred into your account, they will retain that home resort status ... but you might need to have MS manually track those points to make the reservation within the 11 month priority.

Having a VB owner make a reservation for you would also work well.

I think I'd be tempted to take my chances at 7 months- even if that means using the waitlist. I'd think you'll have good success at 7 months.
