My Halloween challenge to you and your kiddos!

I saw this in a magazine and I think it is a great idea! I do not know why I never thought of it before...

If your city has a Ronald McDonald House I challenge you to donate your children's Halloween candy to them so that children who are not able to trick or treat may still enjoy the fun of the season. If your kids are like mine, the candy gets eaten for the first day or so and then it sits until I throw it away or make DH take it to work. Why not pass it along? I called my local RMH today and was told they take donations of new, unopened, still in the wrapper candy. My plan is to take DS out and let him enjoy what he wants Halloween night and then bag up the rest to take to the house. Since he is little and does not totally understand giving it to someone and not getting anything back, I may offer him a book or small toy in exchange for the candy but may not. We will see how it goes.

Anyway, just a thought to make a small difference in the lives of others.

I think that is a great idea! we're leaving for Disney on Halloween, but I think trick or treat is the day before! We don't have a RMH close by, but I think the local hospital may work, also!

Why stop there - donate costumes (from last year of course), and jack-o-lanters too! We donated a bunch of baseball cards one year - it was nice.

This is a great idea. I am going to call my local children's hospital and see if they want the princess costumes my DD has outgrown.

This is so clever.

I've heard of people making an exchange with their kids of halloween candy for a little present or something. I thought that was a great idea but I figured the candy would just go straight into the trash.

This is a much better plan.
