We have a new guide and I left a message for her to call me on Thursday because we would like to add 100 points. She hasn't called me back yet :(

Has anyone heard of any points being available besides SSR? We already own 225 there, but would like to add something different elsewhere.

Thanks!

Deb

Availability changes constantly, I'm pretty sure they'll have something...but remember it also has to be in the same use year that you have now. Maybe your guide is away temporarily (cruise, vacation or ill). Good luck on your add-on.

Thanks Chuck! They told me she would be in on Saturday, so she must be very busy.

I thought if I purchased through Disney directly I could have the same use year. That must only be on new points, not existing ones right?

Thanks Again,

Deb

When we added on through Disney at a second resort, we were sold points with the same use year as our original contracts. However, they must have points available before they can sell them to you. If they don't have them in inventory, you waitlist until they become available.
We were lucky and they had points that matched our UY when we called to add on; otherwise we would have waited for them to become available.

Exactly what I was trying to say. Disney will only sell you points in the same use year as your current contract, but they have to have the inventory available. For insttance, if you have a June use year, your add-ons will be a June use year...but even though the may have 100 VWL points (or whatever resort) available, they may be for a different use year and won't be available to you.

If you are adding on 150 points or more from Disney they will give you another use year if your use year isn't available. I wanted to add on at the BCV they didn't have my use year but they had another so I took that use year and had my points in one day.
Good Luck.

I called DVC again, decided to change guides. I've called 3 or 4 x's and more repsonses back. Oh well.

Our new guide Jim should be calling tomorrow :)

I had the same problem last year with my old guide Lisa, she never called me back. I called her for a month straight and I never received 1 call back from her. I finally got a hold of someone and they told me they would take care of it and a new guide would call me the next day, nothing - again, no call from anyone. So in January when I was in Disney I went to SSR and changed the guide in person. I just did a add on and when my new guide Kathy went to put it through they wouldn't let her do it, saying she wasn't my guide, again I had to call the Manager over there and confirm with him she was my new guide. So my point is, if you don't hear from anyone keep pushing, it took 6 mos before my new guide was official. Hopefully yours went smoothly.

My guide quit two weeks ago and I had to switch very fast since I was trying to buy BVC points. Fortunately I got a great guide named Ron who not only got me back on the waiting list ( somehow I was lost from the list) but got the points in a matter of days. A large boatload of points had just come in and I had a choice of buying almost as much as I wanted. I ended up with 210. I did not want a large number of points on any one contract, based on all the commentary I have read here, in case I every had to resell.

If the guide is not calling you back, call and ask to speak to their supervisor and ask for help. It will work.

I've been waiting for a call back from our guide also. So far no call. What's not good about this is that I've been trying to no avail for quite awhile now to convince DH that we should add on some more points, so finally he tells me to call and get the specifics. I'm afraid if too much time goes by, he'll change his mind. :sad2:

I must not be very patient because I waited for 5 days before calling for a switch of guides. When I initially called for information they let me speak to Jim and got price per cost ect. When I wanted more specifics I could never get my guide to call me back. Called 2 more times and finally called and said I wanted to switch. Manager came on and was very apologetic and nice. I also didn't want DH to change his mind also.

Just call and tell them you want a new guide. We have Jim now and he is very prompt and I never have to worry about him not calling me back. BTW we added on another 100 pts. Now we have 325. We started with 175.00. Is it ever enough?

I like our guide, Byron. He got back to me right away when we wanted more points. We were put on the waitlist for VWL for only a matter of days before Byron called me back to say we got the add on points. :)

Uggh..Not sure how this can happen! if you weren't on the list. I've been waiting for a few weeks now for 150 BCV and we are new so use year doesn't matter.. :confused3
