My granite is going in today!!

They just brought it into the house and placed it. It is covered with stone dust, etc. but I love it. I had a particular tile in mind for the back splash based on viewing the entire slab, etc but now that I see it in place, I am going to pick out a different tile. I like the lighter aspects of the tile I selected but the darker aspects compete with the granite.

What color/pattern did you get?

I got sahara beige which looks like sand on the beach after the waves have gone out. Its peaceful looking. What isn't peaceful is that the brackets that hold my Viking cooktop are missing. Not so easy to solve but I should have some information on those tomorrow. Unlike Jennair, Viking's missing parts have to be paid for by me, since I didn't notice that they were missing within 90 days. I am happy to pay for them at this point as long as I get them.. The store we bought it at has since gone out of business. Our other appliances were bought at the same time; a convection/conventional double wall oven, a warming draw and a 36 in microwave, all from Jennair. I had a several parts missing. They promptly got them all out, Fed Ex, and one part that was damaged, they overnighted a replacement for. Today I went to look for the temperature probe that arrived on August 10th. I have no doubt that it arrived but my contractors haven't seen it lately. I am afraid it got tossed out with the trash. I called Jennair to explain and purchase another one and they are sending me one out at no cost. The tile is coming Wednesday but the glass tiles are backordered until Sept. 28th. They will put in other tiles to hold the spaces.
