Hey everyone,
Looks like my family needs more prayer requests and pixie dust right now. Just a few minutes ago we got a call from my grandma saying that my grandpa is in a Burn Center downtown where they live. Shall I tell the story? Okay, I will,
She said that he was out back of their house wanting to get rid of some gunpowder that he thought would burn slowly.. he was laying it all out onto the ground, he then lit a match (a small one..) and all of a sudden the gunpowder exploded right into his face! Luckily he turned his head and only, ONLY got one side of his head burned. My grandpa then went around to the back door and called for my grandma saying he needs help quickly, and at that moment my grandma knew right away that she had to call 911. So she called 911 and after a few minutes 1 ambulance, a few police officers, 1 sheriff and about 10 firemen all arrived and they took my grandpa down in an ambulance and then had to take him in a helicopter down to the Burn Center in the hospital. He didn't want to tell my grandma what he was doing because he thought that he knew what he was doing and thought it was the right thing to do. It wasn't smart. At all. So after he was taken downtown, the firemen and the sheriff stayed behind and talked to my grandma asking why he was doing that, blah blah blah. She told them and told us that the firemen talked really loud with their loud voices.. so yeah that's the story.
So now my grandpa is in the Burn Center and has a shaven head and his eyebrows are all gone.. they're going to be looking after him tonight seeing if anything really bad goes wrong and if he'll need burn treatment, that painful treatment people get when they get burned.. so please keep your prayers with them and pixie dust for our family. It was an accident and he didn't know better, really. He just thought he could go outside and get rid of his gunpowder by burning it, but it burned him instead. My grandpa is a tough guy, real tough. My grandma says he'll be okay, she also said that he's got blisters coming up around the side of his head where he got burned.
