Wow, I'm on the edge of tears right now. I hope that the friend's parents,and the others who accsesed the account are haunted by this for the rest of their lives, haunted by the fact that they got a girl to commit suicide.Prayers for the family, BIG time prayers That's all I have to say on this.

EDIT: Even if this family apologized, an apology couldn't substitute what happened to their daughter. It's totally sickening that adults..ADULTS!!!!! would lower Megan's self-esteem just for kicks. I feel terrible for the family, but if the mother cared so much about protecting her 13 year old, and monitoring her myspace use, she should never have been allowed to add that boy.
I can see if the mother had no involvement, that sure the girl would just add him even though she didn't know him.. But the mother allowed it? What sane parent allows their thirteen year old daughter to befriend a boy who is supposedly 16 online? It doesn't make sense at all.

ok to me thats crap that they can't find a "Charge" for the lady...they should lock her up in jail just for what she did....ok if the mom was so worried about the girl why didn't she make her get of her myspace account when she took her little sister out? i do feel sorry for them and i hope they do something to the mom who did that...

I've read other places that some think the parents of Megan are to blame,but I completely disagree.
How do we know that the computer wasn't Megan's only "outlet" (from being depressed and ADD) and taking it away may have caused more harm than good?

Exactly Sonya. If they had taken away the computer, my guess, is that it would do more than good. And if they "adults" were so set on harrassing Megan, they would have found another way.

This story just shakes me to the core. I can't imagine how it felt to be Megan Meier. Finally to be happy after all those years of struggling with depression, find someone who thinks your beautiful...only to have it end like that.

I honestly, 100%, do not think the parents are to blame. They monitored her computer more than most parents do. But honestly, they cannot know what's going on in their teenagers life every second of every day. All the blame, should be set on that awful, dispicable family that created "Josh".

From what I've heard, the conversations between Megan and "Josh" got mildly sexual, so hopefully those adults will be charged with something. I don't know what to think if they're not.

I just hope Megan can rest in peace.

I don't have the article,but it's on the thread on the CB about this.
The mother who created the account supposudly said she didn't feel "as guilty" when she found out that Megan had talked about suicide previously in the 3rd grade.

Can you believe that?
Then again,this is coming from a grown woman who harrassed a teenage girl.
