my gf keeps asking to see twilight

I have a 12 yr old sister who absolutely LOVES Twilight...and my 20 yr old bff LOVES it and went to see it with her fiance...so I'm guessing its just YOU who has a problem with it...

So the whole world revolves around your preteen sister, a friend and a boyfriend?

It's not just HIM that has a problem with Twilight. It's also people who can't stand recycled drivel.

My 12 yr old dd LOVES Twilight now, she just started getting into it. MORE IMPORTANTLY are we seriously letting a troll cause an argument? :confused3

I think if the op really liked this girl he would become a vampire AND a werewolf. Just for her. :lovestruc

Ok people, be honest. How many of you went to see Pirates of the Carribbean & then dreamt of the guy in your life being a pirate or master swordsman who saved your life. Then you wake up, look over and....it's still him.:guilty:

Back when I was young the impossible standard was John Cusak in "Say Anything" especially when he was holding that radio above his head playing Peter Gabriel's 'In your Eyes'. I can't tell you the number of guys who would drop me off from a movie date serenading me with love songs from their sub-woofer systems as they drove off :rotfl: never-mind the DJ boyfriend who installed a speaker system in his car so he could sing to me from the street.

Don't think of it as competition, think of it as a 'how to get girls to love you' guide... silly boys.

For the record, I don't see how they had the money to finish the film when they were so obviously pinching pennies by not giving that poor underage Lautner kid and his friends any shirts.

a few posts in this thread made me realize that it's probably a good influence on her because maybe she will understand why i am protective of her doing bad stuff like edward protects bella. thanks everyone

Well that's certainly reasonable. I would absolutely qualify Twilight as "bad stuff".

Well, currently I'm waiting for my DH to go to the garage and build a metal suit..... :lovestruc

On the off chance you are serious about your cryptic posts, for the record: she is not your property, does not need your protection, and is capable of making her own choices. You should have a responsible female helping raise you to tell you this but since she didn't I'm doing it, it's not ok to try and control your love interest. They have a word for guys who behave the way you are describing, "EX-boyfriend".

I see many-a-restraining order in you future.

I don't understand why the girlfriend is "asking" to see Twilight (cause it's terrible...BUT...) are her hands broken? Can she not rent or buy the movie on her own and just watch it? If she's so helpless, useless, weak or needy (like Bella) that she needs Mr. Coaster96 approval and help to watch a simple movie, perhaps she needs him afterall.

One of the signs of emotional abuse in a relationship is seeking to control what the other person does. I think you need to talk to your family, or a school counselor or teacher about your relationship.

Ugh not what I meant. I meant about it being a bad influence. I have never heard of a guy being like that...I feel sorry for the girl thinking she has to ask his permission to see a movie. I myself couldnt get into the books or the movies but I dont have a problem with it. It just wasnt for me.

lol...as a preteen girl I have to admit I was always looking for an orlando bloom like pirate...:rotfl:...

The fact is, Coaster96 seems to be young enough that he does not understand SARCASM....which in short Coaster is saying one thing, but meaning something else.

When others were saying "Why yes you should control your girlfriend because girls like that" what they were meaning is "No, you shouldn't try to control your girlfriend, she is not your property and should be making your own decisions"

If I found out a little twerp were trying to control my daughter, I would not only be having a little chat with his parents about his potentially abusive patterns, I would also be filing a restraining order against him.

Relationships are not founded on CONTROLLING the other person...they are founded on love and trust....and you clearly do not trust your girlfriend.

Anyone who wants to forbid their girlfriend from seeing a movie because they don't want her to 'dream' about the actors or characters is just showing how immature and insecure they are.

Quite frankly, you sound like you have no business having a girlfriend until you do a bit more growing up....

I hope you are nothing more than a troll. If you are serious, you are an abuser. Plain and simple. There is no reason that you should be controlling what she watches, who she hangs out with, etc. She needs to dump you fast and you need to get some counseling. There is nothing even remotely funny about pretending to be abusive.
