I was just listening to a Disney Podcast and heard My Friends Tigger and Pooh has been cancelled. I wasn't sure if this was true or not, but then I found a few other websites saying this is the case -- so I guess it is? I'm shocked and saddened. My 2 yr old son LOVES this show.

I can't imagine this being cancelled as far as ratings go. The latest Halloween MFTAP DVD that came out appeared to sell alot at a local Target near me. Children at DHS (I was there 2 weeks ago) loved seeing the MFTAP segment during Playhouse Disney Live on Stage -- maybe even more than Mickey and Friends or Handy Manny. Plus why cancel it and release new MFTAP toys that I have been seeing recently. They even have a Darby and Buster Pez scheduled to come out (if not already).

In the Magic Kigndom, Pooh as a Super Sleuth and Darby always have huge lines to see them. Will they go away? Will Pooh and Friends leave DHS?

I'm going to have to investigate the contact info I can write to at Disney Channel and write a petition to continue this show. I know Pooh purists compare it too classic Pooh -- but for those MFTAP critics, just take it for what it is, a great show for the little ones in this world. If any Disney Channel Execs roam the message boards, please take note of one Playhouse Disney viewer that is unhappy with your decision. If this move was to make room for shows like the "Imagination Movers" then I am truly disgusted. That show can go back to being the in-between shows video interlude that it was.
I can't take a half-hour of that "programming".

If this is the end for MFTAP -- then please just release these on DVD per Season and stop releasing 2 or so episodes at a time for a premium DVD price. I know I can buy episodes on Itunes, but how fun is it to watch them on an Ipod or computer for my son.

Any other MFTAP fans or Moms/Dads of lttle ones that fans out there? Please voice your thoughts. Maybe we can save the show .... think think think ;)

Oh, that's so sad. It seems that both Playhouse Disney and *cough* *that other channel* cancel the good shows and put absolute garbage in their place. Yo Gabba Gabba, anyone? :sad2: That's sad they are cancelling Pooh!

OHH MY GOODNESS!!! YO GABBA GABBA????? I CANNOT STANNND that stupid bleepity bleep show...my almost two year old mimicks that STUPID dj guy and LOVES it!!! It is pretty much (aside from Handy Manny and MMCH) the only show she likes or holds an interest in!! Now, I am not trying to say that I sit her in front of the TV wanting her there all day, but just in order to mop the floors, I need that 1/2 hour. Thank GOODNESS Disney On Demand came to my cable network, b/c now I can put on either Manny, or Mickey and she will be quiet.

I cannot believe that they keep those kind of shows ON the TV but take away the (IMO) good shows...OK rant over...THANKS for reading

My kids love Tigger and Pooh! I thought I was going to dislike it with out Christopher Robin but I love Darby.

My 2 year old is always saying 'Think, Think, Think"! And my Pooh loving 5 year old still watches it. Heck even my 1st grader watches it with her little brother!

He is watching it as I type while he is also building his trains!

Yo Gabba Gabba is on Nick Jr.

There is a new show on Playhouse Disney called Imagination Movers. Maybe that's the show you're thinking of?

DD3 Loves My Friends Tigger & Pooh. She does like Imagination Movers as well - they get on my nerves but I guess I'm not who they're targeting. Higglytown & Buunytown do not hold her attention - get rid of 1 or both of those.

I, too, hope it isn't true. I watch my grandkids during the day and it was a long summer with the preteen lineup. My 2 y/o grandson loves Tigger and Pooh as does the 1 y/o. The older one doesnn't really talk yet but he does do the Think, Think, Think and can even say it and sings the songs. Imagination movers has yet to grow on me. We watch Disney from 9 am until it is time to pick their mom's up at 2 pm. There is a little of the Nick channel but I won't go there. They also love Little Einsteins but that is on to early. I wish the powers that be would try to figure out how to poll moms of young ones for the programming they want. Who knows better what the kids like.

A question:

MFTOP= My Friends Tigger and Pooh?

Since when does AND get abbreviated to O?

"And" becomes an abbreviated "O" when it is 1 am and you are about to go to bed and hear that your son's favorite show is being cancelled and wanted to see if any fellow Dis'ers are upset about this news.

Anyway, so besides correcting my abbreviation does that mean you like the show and wish it would stay on the air?

Why in the world would they cancell My Friends Tigger and Pooh. My 3 year old loves that show. She used to get excited every time it came on and she learned so much. I searched for it to see when the new season came out and got nothing. I am really not happy with the idea that Disney channel would cancell a great learning kids show like this and keep shows like Hannah Montana and the Suite Life on Deck or the other one I saw....I'm in the band. I want my children to experience educational shows that help them develop. I am just truly aggrivated...I guess I will stop allowing her to watch Disney Channel and stick with the educational shows like Sesame Street. At least with that I know she will learn something.

Not sure cancelling the show will have any affect on whether or not they stay at the park. JoJo's circus hasn't been on in years and she is featured at a character meal :confused3

NO! I hadn't seen it on recently and have been really missing it as it is (was?) one of both of my children's favorite shows. Mine too, honestly. Now I'm sad.

My daughter loves this show as well. I really hope they don't cancel it!:guilty:

What really gets me is that shows like Jungle Junction, Chuggington and Special Agent OSO are still on. They are not nearly as cute as Tigger and Pooh. We still sing the "When I Hear Thunder" song every time it rains here - aww, this makes me sad.

From reading other threads on the DIS, I have learned that most of the programming for Disney is on a 4 year cycle. TPTB seem to think that 4 years is long enough for a run and then they put on new programming. One thread was saying how the posters missed Bear in the Big Blue House, Jo-Jo's Circus and others and didn't like how they were replaced by Tigger and Pooh, Higgletown, etc. And here we are discussing how they are cancelling fhose shows for the "newer" ones.

Even Hannah Montana was only a 4 year contract, and I have seen interviews with Selena Gomez were she said something along the lines of "well this is our fourth season, so it is up to Disney if there is a fifth season of Wizards of Waverly Place, because that is all that the show is under contract to produce."

Also, keep in mind that Soapnet is being replaced with a Disney Preschool channel (Disney Jr. I think) sometime in 2011 (Sorry, I don't remember the exact date). So it is possible that some of the "older" Disney preschool classics may show back up on that channel. :happytv:
