My flight is on AA ???

My flight out of stl is nearly sold out. I believe the likelyhood of this flight to be oversold is very great. And I have a question for those of you that fly AA. My question is what is the likely hood of being bumped off my flight, we have a connencting flight comming from bmi (bloomington, il) and there is only 30 minutes between connects. Therefore we will probably be one of the last ones to check in at the gate. When I called AA they assured me that because i have a seat assignment I should have no problems. What do you out there think, Our flight date is May 22, 2005 and the flight # I am talking about it 1098.

Don't worry about it. What the rep should have told you instead of the "you have a seat assignment" is, when you check in for your flight in Bloomington, you are also checking in for your MCO flight at the same time. You don't need to check in at STL as well.

On your particular flights, there is an alert for a "short connect time". 30 min is the minimum for AA at STL--in other words no sightseeing through the airport on the way to the gate.

Your flight is not in an oversell situation. Here are the statistics on that flight

They are still selling seats in discounted fare buckets. Looking at an only seat maps on the website is NOT a reliable source of information. Many seats will appear blocked to you unless you are an elite flyer with AA. Don't sweat it. Even if the flight does go into an oversell situation they ask for volunteers, and trust me they will sweeten the pot enough that someone always volunteers.
