My fisheye is on the way!

Looking at the pics on the FOTF thread I had to get one. My DW let me order the Opteka branded Samyang 8mm fisheye for my D5100. Now to learn to strictly shoot in Manual.

Was shopping around for one yesterday. Congrats. Can't wait to see the pics. I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of the fisheye images at first but it has kind of grown on me and now I'm looking forward to using one!

I am used to using the highlights histogram. Should I use the RGB one? I wasn't a fan either until I started looking through the FOTF thread now I can't wait to start shooting with it.

Use the RGB histogram. It will tell you the whole story of the exposure. Learn how to read the peaks and what they tell you about the exposure and the contrast. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of things. Though I still bracket a lot when I'm shooting manual, especially when I use the fisheye.
