Hi! This is my first post! My first trip to WDW is the first week of June when I'll be celebrating my 20th Anniversary! I can't wait, but here's our dilemma: we arrive at Orlando at 6:25pm and we are staying at Contemporary in a Wing room (we wanted to upgrade to the tower, but it was already full). We are using the Magic Your Way Express and aren't sure when to make a ADR for our first night! Would 9pm be too early? Do you think we should eat at the Contemporary's Steakhouse or go over to the Poly and eat at Ohana's? What time could we safely make a ADR for the first night and where do you recommend?

We used DME three times this past winter. During two stays at the WL we were checking in 1 hour after we left the plane at the gate. The stay at the YC it was 1 hour and 15 minutes. I'm not sure if these times are normal or not. Your room should be available at that time of the evening.

We arrived before noon each time.

There's alot of factors involved: Flight arriving on-time, DME could take anywhere from 30 min. to over an hour, etc. How important is eating at WDW on your first night?? If it is, you could make an ADR for 9pm amd if any problems arise, call Dining and let them know. As far as where to eat, I'd stick with eating at the Contemporary - adding extra travel time to get to the Poly is just an extra hassle. Also you need time to check in!!!

Good luck!!

How about a late reservation at the California Grill?
Since it is in the Contemporary anyway there will be no need to travel. Don't know what time their last ADR is but you might want to check.
Also, Welcome to the DIS and Happy Anniversary!

ps...you can check out all WDW menus on allearsnet.com

If there are no flight delays and you land on time it takes a minimum of an hour, they do stop at other resorts along the way and you never know for how long. Rather than make the reservation and worry about making it there on time, with hopefully no bumps in the road, I'd think that at 9:00 you could just walk right and get a table, being after the dinner rush. But then again if it has a view of the MK people might want a table to see the fireworks (wishes) at 10:00.
