Hello there my Dis Friends,

I am relatively new to the DIS boards but My good Friend Harry has been very helpful it getting me started.

The Players

Me - Scott 50 Years old, this will be my first ever trip to ANY Disney Resort

My spouse Barbara 57 years old, she was last at WDW in the early in the 70's, much has been updated since then.

We are scheduled to leave early on the morning of December 18, 2010 and return home on December 28, 2010. Because of the extra cost at that time of year we had originally considered other dates, but Harry and Becky convinced us that christmas time was well worth the extra we would spend an get a trip that would not be forgotten for a long time.

We have a good size group going for a magical gathering but we will be staying at different resorts.

We started planning a few months ago and we meet with our traveling friends every once in a while so Barb and I can get hints, tips and tricks to prepare for our vacation.

Barb and I will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside the first and I hope not the last trip to WDW.

Well thats all for now, I will have more over the next few months.

Bye for Now.

Howdy Scott ... great to hear you'll be experiencing WDW for the first time. I've never stayed at POR but I'm sure you'll love it (GREAT choice to stay on-property).

I'm excited for you ... all the wonder of going to Disney ... and for your wife who will be absolutely floored by the changes since her last trip.

I'm "in" for your thread and will look forward to future posts.

I am beginning to look at airlines to fly down. I am morbidly obese and would like some ideas of what to expect and/or airline suggestions. I am aware that may need to pay for two seats for myself because of my size. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, I will need an ECV while I am down there but to make sure I have use of it throughout the trip, I will need to rent offsite and have it delivered to the resort. Any suggestions on reputable off site rental companies so I can rent an ECV for the entire trip. I will be spending 10 days there.

Thanks in advance to any and all suggestions.
:santa:

I know it is still 6 months away but things are moving along well. Just made reservations with Southwest Airlines, got a decent price and will be making ADR's this weekend, then we start kicking into high gear with all the pre-trip preperations. Getting more and more excited about things everyday, cannot WAIT for the trip to get here. I have to call the ECV rental place to get cost of renting ECV for the 12 day trip.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that some of us have decided to stay an extra two days bringing the trip to 12 days. Got my ECV rental reserved at WALKER MEDICAL AND MOBILITY PRODUCTS, got a great deal since I was renting for multiple days. Making ADRs over the weekend, finishing up our dining selections before Sunday. Now the fun(and waiting) begins.:woohoo:

:woohoo: Reservations have been paid for and the Airline reservations are all set. Just got all our Magical Express Tags a few Days ago and Yesterday I got the envelope with the luggage ID Tags and the Vouchers.

Doublechecked all our dining reservations(love the fact that we got a break on the dinner deal saved us quite a bit of money) and made sure the ECV reservations are all set for when we get to the hotel.

Now all thats left is making sure to get the house ready for vacation and to get everything packed. I just hope they get this TSA issues straightened out before we head out that was the one thing I was not looking for.

24 days and counting cannot believe how time is just flying by.:woohoo:
