Hello............ Hello(2 voices)................. Hello (a quartet)!!!
Good morning everyone. In the past few months since I made my last and only video, DW and I have had a few, well...........
.
.
.
some strange things have happend around us since I first made this video Please Click Here to watch the first iMovie video I ever did of DW and I's 2nd Adults only trip to WDW. I so badly want to put up the video of our trip on the video. (The program I need to convert the HD video files to use on a Mac is $300). We had purchased a new HD video camera last year
. And at the time we had a PC.
. DW and I both got tired of all of the "New windows, same problems" with Windows. 98, 98se, Windows ME LOL Crash here, crash there, 2000, XP, good ol' Vista
and 7.. Never really lost to many photo's or video's. Just had to reboot the hard drive once in a while.
I would always back those any video's if possible up on a DVD-R. Pc's never crash right?
Any how, back to the story, about a month later, DW and I get a iMac for her schooling, while she is getting her BS in Nursing, a bit less crashing and a lot less blue screen of death
. And while all of this is going on, in the Louisville Ky area, we are having a record year for rain. As of 8 am, we are 4-5" short of a normal annual rainfall for the area and its only june. They say we are only 18" above normal rainfall. No big deal right? (Sorry Debbie. I'm trying to will some of this rain to you.), the Ohio river flood is in major flood stage, Thunder over Louisville, Oh how I dread not going to Thunder.
I have seen Thunder over Louisville on TV or in person every year since 2001. And if you have been to Thunder you know what I'm talking about.
. Some years the weather is wonderful and over 700,000+ people show up to watch fireworks!! And I tell you, if you truly LOVE fireworks, there is no better place to see Thunder then by the Ohio river
. Always a great air show every year. We had the Blue Angels one year, we left well before the traffic jam from HELL. Every year the police say they are doing great with the traffic. LOL
Let's see, I've been to baseball games in these cities, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, Louisville (Go BATS!!, and Cincinnati!! So I thought baseball crowds were bad, what 45,000-50,000 max? Football is closer to 65,000-100,000 (to include NCAA GO CARDS!!!!). I've even been to Nascar
. I've been to Daytona in 1998 when Dale Earnhardt won after 19 tries
. Been to Charlotte 2 times and Kentucky. 1 year we went to the first annual AllState 400 at the brickyard.
It was 92 Degs and a bit humid the one trip to the Brickyard in 05, we could only see the front stretch since we sat behind pit road.Great seats. You just never know what drive will be pitting in front of you. We just happened to have Dale Jr in front of us. So you get my point when it comes to crowds right??
. LARGE crowds. At Thunder, a bad year for crowds with cold weather still draws 300,000+ brave souls
. So this year with all of the rain, the Ohio river was just running out of it's banks. They were comparing this flood the the great flood of 1997. Bad, real bad. Before my time. Still, lot's of rain.
Well, one month after making my first movie with a Mac, my DFil passed away.
. Good thing we didn't go the Thunder this year. We headed for the hospital after he collapsed at home. You know "Love the mama
) We stayed at the hospital til close to 11 pm. The next morning we showed back up to give support and "the whole family" when he passed. Very hard to deal with. Yet I was asked to help carry the coffin. I felt good about it. I got to ride in a nice caddy limo. It was a 2011 model too. And after all of this has transpired, we still watched Thunder on TV on the DVR. Then 3 weeks ago, DW's uncle passed away
. (ok, I hear there is a thing about dying in 3's. Movie stars are in 3's right?
Thank goodness no others have passed.
And to top it off, on June 22, I was at home watching something on the DVR (watching extreme couponing can be addictive
and, help save some money
) we saved over $250 2 weekends ago at Walmart for $100 and Kroger for $150) and DW at 7:30, sends me a text saying Jefferson County (where Louisville is), is under a Tornado warning
. Yeah right. Its lovely and a few clouds in the sky. I turn on the TV to see, yep, a tornado warning.
Let's see now, DW and I both love to watch "Storm Chasers" on the Discovery channel (and she loves to play fantasy football, loves nascar, baseball and some college basketball. Lucky man I am). So I put on my Crocs, (why just wear them at WDW?), grabbed the car keys, and the video camera and drove to a part of town that is on a hill (well sort of). Well, at least a good view of Louisville. So as I'm driving to the subdivision, I have the radio tuned into 84 WHAS on the radio while WAVE 3 reports the weather. Now just to tell ya, I'm a Jay Cardosi guy. But I'm really liking Mark weinberg's weather on FOX 41. Go figure. (sorry WAVE 3) Andy and Kevin you still rock!!!!
So I spend when 5 mins to take some video what looks to me as a large cloud mass some 20 miles away. But it didn't have much lightning, nor did it look torandic. It was just BIG. I was no longer excited, so I got back in the car to head back home and Andy and Kevin were saying the weather sounded like the weather was getting worse, (Opps.....be right back - ummm LOL)

So, where was I, oh yeah driving back home, now.......you ever have that "I'm going to regret this" Moment?
Yes......Yes....... Yes. This was that moment in my life. Earlier that day, I topped of my tank at Kroger for $3.27 (thank you Kroger plus card), so I tell myself, I have a tank full of gas, Im not hunger, nothing better to do since susan was at school, Bellermine University, and I say, "what the hell". I'll only drive so far. I won't be stupid and get close. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
.
.
Not me. The "Do my best as a truck driver not to get in accidents while driving nearly 1.75 million miles. (just in a semi. Not including the car miles)
I will just drive to the ford plant. No closer. That's what I tell me self. Just go I265 west (Gene Snyder) to I65 north to Fern Valley road.I'll pull off at that exit and I'll be safe. Yeah that's it. Safety first right?
. Well as I head for the ramp to the Snyder and to head to no father then the ford plant, I tell myself as I pass up a chance to head towards the east and watch from the east, Doh!!!! I bet it will be safer that way. I'll let you be the judge of that.
So Watch this video Click right here please and enjoy it in HD. This is just a small snippet of what all I recorded.
Thank you for watching. Please give it thumbs up or down on YouTube Please
Thanks again,
John
