My first very unpleasant experience in VMK...

As an adult, I try to keep VMK in perspective - it is only a game. Well last night I was in a trade room with a person who kept reporting me for using bad language because I would not trade him.

At one point I got disconnected and when I came back into the room to finish a trade, this individual was bragging that must have gotten me banned and that he felt sorry for me

Then too top it off, he must be on one of my friends list because he kept following me around to let me know how stupid I am not to trade him and that was he was offering was way more valuable than what he wanted. It really got on my nerves and I finally just logged off.

I know it is just a game, but last night I was really upset about it. I did report this person to VMK and explain what they were doing about reporting me every five minutes. VMK sent me a message back saying I had nothing to worry about, which I thought was nice. I also have about ten people find me to tell me they reported him too and told VMK that I did nothing wrong, which made me feel a little better.

Anyway thanks for listening, just felt the need to vent.

That player was definitely harrassing you, which is a reportable offense.
You did the right thing. You can handle it as an adult, but do you think
you would have been ok if you were a 10 year old?

I feel sorry for kids who have that happen to them.
(Not to mention the adults that have it happen to them, too!)

Sorry that happened to you, Dagny. How frustrating.

Some kid begged me and CL_twirlergirl to put him on our list today. Within five minutes, he was following me around everywhere bugging me. Just saying my name. Finally, I just deleted him and left the room.

I try to be patient with kids, but sometimes they just won't let up. Of course, we have no way of knowing it's not adults acting like that.

I have my nephew playing the game now, and I'm trying to tell him to be kind to everyone, and I've told him that if people say they are busy to leave them alone and do something else.

Ugh, I've had something like that happen. I don't think I was reported. But I wouldn't trade with them and they started following me around saying I was mean and that no one should talk to me and that I probably didn't have any friends. Eh, I shrugged it off, but at the same time....

Funny you mention that,because last night,after playing the Haunted Mansion game was AceRoset said gosh you had to let us win dumbo then you could win the last round but we still get lots of money but no.I said calm down It's just a game,then she called me a dumbo again and left.I reported it,and got a message back from the staff thanking me for reporting it and reminding me to click ignore.I hope they banned her for at least a day.

It's the same with the bear rug debate,I see it's pointless because they should release it and if people like them they buy them.However,people are harassing each other because some people vote cute and others vote boot.It's their own opinion,and it's just a game.You should also remember that one boot vote might not kill the whole thing,but it's not your fault if you vote boot.It's your opinion,no need to get upset about a stupid vote.So what if the bear rug doesn't come out,it doesn't matter,and it's not worth losing a friendship to.Don't ask me why I vote what I vote,it's like asking YOU why you voted cute/boot.
