Hello again... so I guess you are also back from your trip!!! I have nice pics of us, I will post them on my trip report!!!

Hey! I was wondering when I'd run into you!! I haven't started my post TR yet...just downloaded all my pics and ordered by photopass CD -- should be here Wednesday!:cool1:

I hope to have my photopass pictures also soon, they are orderered. I'm going to your read your trip reports, I'm also curious about them. :goodvibes

Well let me start mine.

Saturday April 26th.
We were up early and went to the airport. Wow, there are a lot of people who are going on holiday this day, it was very, very busy. We stood in line, and thought this is going to be a long, long wait. Fortunately, someone came up to us, and ask if we were heading to the States. Yes we are. Ok you can go in that shorter line. We did. Then someone came, and asked, are you flying with United? Yes, we are. And we could go to again a shorter line. We met Marjol and her husband Gerbert who is also on this board. We thought, yes, it is going great! :) Well, it was, but then we found out our plane was delayed. It seemed they closed Washington airport for a couple of hours due to bad weather. we were supposed to leave at 12.25 hrs, but now they said it was 15.15 hrs. They told us that the plane to Miami was probably also delayed, so there was still a chance we could make that.

We were on board and thought we would leave at 15.15 hrs, but unfortunately there was a technical problem. We waited for an hour in the plane, and finally we could leave.
When we came in Washington, we already expected we couldn't catch our flight anymore. There was no other flight available that evening, so we had to stay a night in the Hyatt, United took care of that. The next day there was no connecting flight to Miami, so we had to go first to Charlotte, North Carolina, and then to Miami. The hotel was very nice, we talked with some other people from the plane and who I know from some Dutch boards, and then we went sleeping. We'll just see what will happen tomorrow..

Sunday, April 27th

We woke up early and went with 2 other families who also went to Miami to the airport. We tried to check in, and saw we didn't even get places, we were standby... Ok, we didn't mind to stay a night in Washington instead of Miami, but please, get us on that plane to Charlotte and then Miami! One ofthe other families were also on standby. Luckily there was place for us all, and we left for Charlotte.
I have a confession to make.. I didn't know where I could find Charlotte, and thought it would be a very small place and airport.
Ok, I was wrong, and now I know it is in North Carolina. ( and now I can say I have been there too  ).
We arrived at Miami around 14.15 hrs, and had to wait for our suitcases.... ofcourse that couldn't go right. But fortunately they came with a flight one hour later and then our holiday could really start. Michael was so good these 2 days. We thought about it as an adventure, but sometimes ( like the standby part, and the suitcases) had problems with it, but he never had a problem with it.
We went to Alamo to get a car, and then went to Key West. It was a long but beautiful drive, and we saw a wonderful sunset.

We arrived at the Southernmost hotel late in the evening, and went sleeping soon.

Wow -- Remind me not to complain about a hour flight delay when you have days flight delays!

So you were at Washington Dulles Airport?? That's my home airport and we live about 15 minutes from there.

Beautiful sunset picture! I've never been to the FL Keys ... it's on my list...of course, every place in the world is on my list, too...

Sorry about all the delays. That sunset picture is just so beautiful. I have only been down to Key West once and I loved it. Its relaxing and fun and very pretty. Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

-Becca-

Thank you all for reading my reports. :thumbsup2 It is a little bit busy here, so I'm sorry it took a while for the next part, but here it is.

Monday April 28th
In the morning we had breakfast at the Southernmost Cafe on the Beach, a part of the hotel. It is at the beach, a wonderfull place to eat your breakfast.

Then we took the trolley tour. I love the tropical and carribean look of Key West.

dag308.jpg

After this we went swimming.

dag318.jpg

In the evening we went to Mallory Square to see the sunset. It is great to see all perfomers trying to get the attention of the public. Some succeeded, some didn't.
Michael loved one living statue. He was with a bike, stood as a statue untill you gave money. Then he turned into a robot repairing his bike. Michael had to help him with fixing the bike.

dag333.jpg

Ofcourse we watched the sunset, it was beautiful.

dag326.jpg

After that we walked back to the hotel and did some shopping. We saw some pirate shirts for the Princess and Pirates Party, ofcourse we had to buy them.

Tuesday April 29th

After breakfast we went swimming. Then we went to the Key west Butterfly Museum. It is not so big, but wonderfull, and had lots of butterflies. Michael didn't want to confess it at first, but after a little while he told us he was afraid of them, because there were so many butterflies.

In the afternoon we went swimming again. We saw somethingwe never saw before, a rainbow, but now around the sun, fascinating.

dag415.jpg

After this we went shopping. Michael is not feeling very well, so we go back to the room early. We think he had a little bit too much sun.

Wednessday April 30th

Luckily everthing was ok again with Michael this day. We left our hotel and went through the Everglades to Fort Myers Beach. First we stop at Florida City. Here is Everglades Alligator Farm. We saw the alligator show, did the airboattour and see how they feed the alligators. It was fun, especially the aitboattour, we get a little wet when he goes fast. ;)

dag512.jpg

Afterwards we drove the Tamiamitrail to Fort Myers Beach. We saw some alligators in the water beside the road, and some beautiful trees and flowers.
When we are around Naples we saw a Walmart Supercenter. We took some time to get some groceries and buy some clothes.
We arrived at the Outrigger Beach Resort. It is right next to the beach. It is a little bit like a motel, but the room is clean, and is good for us, and right next to beach, that is ofcourse great for us. :)

Our own Baywatch lifeguard :lmao:

We haven't got a laptop with us but they have free internet here on a computer at the reception, so we mail our family and friends that everything is ok.

31 april and 1 May

These days in Fort Myers we went shopping at the Miromar Outlets, and went to Sanibel and Captiva. Beautiful little islands where we went searching for shells.

dag702.jpg

dag704.jpg

We also played miniature golf. Marco won, although Michael and I were very close behind him.

Saturday May 3th

And now, finally the Disney part of our trip. ;)

We left Fort Myers Beach early to go to Disneyworld. Since we were early in Orlando, we decided to go to the Premium Outlets first.
After this we check in at Pop Century. First we get a room with a view at the parkinglot, but when I say asked a room with a view at the lake, she calls, and it is still available, so we get it. We are in the fifties part. When we arrive in the room, we see we have an animal towel, I was hoping we would get one. ::yes::

dag801.jpg

After some unpacking we took the bus to magic Kingdom, and there the monorail to see some hotels and a part of Epcot. We get off at the Poly, and we like this resort a lot. If we have enough money one time, we would definitely stay there.
After this we went to the Contemporary, for dinner at Chef Mickeys. We had a great time there, the food was good. Michael especially enjoyed that he could make his own sunday. Goofy spent some time with us, also Donald, and Pluto, Mickey and Minnie was a quick picture, and they went to the next table.

dag809.jpg

dag813.jpg

After playing some games in the arcade, we went to Downtown Disney.
It rained, but luckily this was the only rain we had during our holiday. :goodvibes
Since Michael is a huge Legofan, we went to the Legostore, and ofcourse we had to buy some. ;) It is much cheaper here then in The Netherlands.
After some more shopping we went back to the hotel.

dag815.jpg

Next: Animal Kingdom.

The next updates will be larger and with more pics...well..... If there are still people interested in it... ;)
