Tuesday February 11
Got up early and met everyone for breakfast. Then on to MGM for One Man's Dream. We saw the first show after spending some time in the exhibit. What a great collection of memorabilia! The movie was really good too! When we finished the film we went shopping until time for our Animation Tour. We purposely waited to do this during the week when artists would be working. It was really neat to be able to look in and see what they are doing. I hope, for the artists sake that it is a mirror on their side. I do not know how I would be able to work with a bunch of tourists looking at me where I could see them too. The tour guide went really fast so we at the back of the group missed some things, but it was still a good tour. We shopped a little in the store and then everyone, again, went their own ways. I took off for DD and a little shopping of my own. Never did find the sweatshirt I wanted in the right size <sigh> But did find some other things for the folks watching my dog. Then back to drop the booty off at the room and pick up the camera for SaD parade. It was a beautiful sunny day so we were going to get to see it!! I went up to Casey's and had a hot dog for lunch, and then to the confectioners for some chocolate covered pretzels and to the Exposition hall to wait for the group. We all met and got curbseats for the parade. They were pretty good seats. wish i had known that the parade stops at the end of main Street because we would have picked our spot up just a little and been able to see what happens there, but we were very happy. The parade was shorter than I thought it would be. I hope these pictures come out as well. All told I took 15 rolls of film. It would have been 16 but for the one that got ruined on the first safari. One of the group went back to the resort to meet her friend who was coming to dinner with us that night for our ps at Artist's Point, the others went to Epcot for wine and cheese in France, but I stayed at MK because I do not drink and there were still a couple of things I wanted to do. I shopped and then made my way to Jungle Cruise but the line was really long and so decided to do Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride. A lot of fun, Tough by yourself trying to work both the controls in the front and the ones in the back. What was really funny is seeing and trying to avoid the camel spitting water on you as you go by. Some people did not see where the water was coming from and then I remembered in the movie he says stay away camels spit. When I got off the ride I went over and took a picture of the camel spitting! Then pictures with Pinocchio and Gepetto and Balou and someone else but I can't remember who and then a picture of Cinderella's Surprise and that finished off my film for the trip. i got to the end of Main Street in time to see the endof the putting the flag to bed ceremony which was pretty cool and then went to guest relations to find the best way to get to the restaraunt. Don't you know there is a ferry boat that takes you right to the lodge in like five minutes. I walked around the grounds, the shop and the lobby and wished I had some film left..it was beautiful. It was about 6:30 and we had ps for 7:30 so I sat down to wait for them in an incredibly comfortable chair. I woke up about 7:05 and went looking for the rest of them. Two were in the bar but the other 4 still weren't there. They showed up about two minutes later and then we checked in. They had a terrible time getting to the restaraunt from our resort but we were seated practically right away and got menus and drinks. I had the pork chop and potatoes and a cobbler for dessert. OMG!!! The food was good but that cobbler with the giant blackberries and succulent blueberries was to die for. The ambience was not that great but the food was terrific. We all had little tastes around and there wasn't a bad bite in the house, they even gave us some of the recipes. Then it was back to the bus and we went to DD and shopped a little before going back to the resort. I packed everything except what i was plannign to wear tomorrow and made sure i had long pants accesible in my luggage for the trip home. The wrote in my journal and went to bed...I almost forgot. The best scenario yet, when we got to the room, I noticed that all the animals were gone, then I saw one sitting on the floor looking towards the bathroom. When we walked back there on the toilet with a piece of toilet paper under his foot was my dog beanie and all the others were lined up outside the bathroom waiting their turn!!! No film left!!!!! We howled so loudly that our friends from the other rooms had to come and see! This was the best yet. But it is sad because tomorrow we have to come home.
