Just got back from first disney trip for DH and I since we were little. It was great. I'll start the trip report by posting about Day 1!

The flight arrived about 9:30AM. I heard that there will be ME greeters all over the airport but we saw no one. We had to walk into the Disney store to ask where the ME people were and they directed us to the first floor. Then we finally saw them. The shuttle ride was great and we got to Caribbean Beach and got a room about 10:15AM or so. Then the internal resort shuttle took about 30 minutes to show up. We got a room in Trinadad South.

After briefly looking at our room we went to DS-MGM Studios. Arrived around 12 noon. It wasn't crowded here at all. We got on Rockin' Roller Coaster and Tower of Tower with only 10 minute waits. I like the Rockin' Roller Coaster ride - it goes by so fast but it's a fun coaster. I like the signs and the music blasting in your ears :) Tower of Terror caught DH by surprise. I rode on it 10 years ago but he never been to MGM. I guess in the dark and the sudden drop caught him off guard! He grasped onto my leg- LOL. I think he was expected it to go up and immediately drop you - not go up show you ghosts and then move forward in the dark . Awesome ride.

After that we ate lunch. We were pretty hungry at that point and just ate at the first place we saw...probably not the best food - hamburgers and chicken strips. Can't remember what it was called. It was right by ToT in that area though.

After that we headed over to the Great Movie Ride. This wasn't very intersting... Kinda boring IMO. I guess if you are really like old movies maybe it's good.

After that we headed to the Disney Animation Demonstration. This was cute, just Okay...Again probably great if you like to draw.

Walked over to WWTBM and the show wasn't about ot start for another 40 minutes - we just missed the previous one. So we walked and got something to drink at a counter service. According to our meal plan, the CS restaurants accept CS and Snack credits. This guy rang up just coke as 1 CS credit. I didn't notice until later but I was able to get it credited back.

Took picture with Sorcerer Mickey - no wait.

Went to WWTBM... I have a feeling that they do this randomly... Do they really keep track of your score/fastest finger? Some of the questions are historic and I really don't think a 10 year old would know the answers to. Who knows though. This was a lot of fun :)

After that we headed over to the 3:55 showing of L!M!A!. There is no need to get a fast pass for this. People were though. We showed up at 3:45 and were able to get seats. I don't think any seat is a bad one. This is a cool show too.

Then we went over to ride Star Tours and got a spot for the afternoon parade about 15 minutes before. Watched the parade.

Went to Sci-Fi for dinner. Food here was ok... Onion rings were good, entree was OK, Desert was good. The atmosphere is good.

It was about 6:30 PM... I wanted to do Tot and Roller Coaster before Fantasmic.. Went on ToT right after eating.. DH said he didn't feel well and wanted to sit down so we went to Fantasmic really early at 7:15 and just sat there! He was fine after a little bit - just headache. There wasn't any need to get there this early-I saw about 7:45 to 8:15 is fine to still get a good seat of your choice. After 8:15 it starts to fill up and the only things left are to the far left of the theater.

Fantasmic was cool...I was a little confused by the story - they were after Mickey and then people are on boats singing in the middle of it was a little confusing to me. It was cool about the animation on the water. In the middle of it you could see and hear the fireworks from Epcot in the background - you think they would have done little better job at placing the theater away from that or at least have the shows at different times...

After that we headed back and went swimming at the hotel pool and went to bed...

Sounded like a good first day. :)

How was the service for ME? Is it over the Mears Transportation? The reason I ask is that we are going next month and we have used Mears in the past. I remember we had to follow signs to ground transportation and out the door was the Mears buses. Is is the same for ME?

We stayed at Carribean Beach a couple of years ago and were in Martinque. We liked the resort, however it was too spread out and it was quite a walk to the food court.

Can't wait for day 2 report. :flower:

Yes it was Mears Transportation. Some other people I know told me when they went ME reps were all over the airport. We found the down to the ground level. There was a counter setup and "Magical Express" was on the wall. Once on the first floor it's easy. Just follow the signs to ground transportaiton and you will find the Magical Express counter.

I am working on Day 2!

Wow that was a LONG day for the both of you! Glad you got to do so much!

I can't wait to read the rest! Have been to WDW 3 times before and haven't written a trip report yet...You inspire me to do so. Will have to take man notes so I don't forget anything.

I'm glad I found this! I remember your pre-trip posts & how you sounded a little worried about getting everything right.

I hope it all turned out great & you really had a good time. I'll be looking for the other days.

Enjoyed your report! You really packed alot of fun into your first day and sounds like it wasn't too crowded so you were able to enjoy it also. Please let us know how you like CB and how you liked where your room was situated. Am getting lots of pointers here thru the Boards.
