Let's start at the beginning,

Who: Me, DH, and DM (guess that's the abbreviation for my mom), and the three fur-babies.

Where: Campsites at Disney's Ft. Wilderness

Trip Dates:
May 19th-May 25th, 2017.

Friday May 19th: Leaving Cincy in the wee hours of the morning. Driving the RV with Golf Cart on trailer in tow as far south as we can get, with an overnight stop to sleep at a Flying J close to the Georgia/Florida state line.

Saturday May 20th: Arrive at Ft. Wilderness as early as possible to check in and get mom's electric scooter picked up from an offsite vendor. Not sure who she called for this trip as of now. I know she has one who will deliver to the Ft., check in as soon as site is ready.....finger crossed for it being ready.

Set up camp and take doggies to dog park.....basically relax the first night and gear up for our first day at the parks on the 21st.

Sunday May 21st: Animal Kingdom......

Stay tuned.............

Part II:

Sunday May 21st:

Animal Kingdom with 8:45 am ADR at Tusker House. Scored three fast passes for Kilamajaro Safari and Expedition Everest.....then the rest of the day is up to whatever else mom and DH want to do there......maybe some kind of "soft opening" for Pandora could be happening? ( I know totally wishful thinking like wishful thinking of winning the lottery) Probably a mid-day or mid-afternoon break to go back and walk the doggies and then return to the park.....if the posted hours for the park are correct. I think I saw 9 am until 9 pm.

Monday May 22nd:

Epcot, the plan is to arrive at Rope Drop and head to Soarin' first..... then play it by ear. Didn't get any other fast-passes for this day. We hesitated and were stuck waiting on mom to get her magic band/pass ordered so we just got our fast-passes in place tonight. Also I look at things this way, it's not our first trip so if we miss something that is just an excuse to come again soon. Especially since we have our RV now and don't have to worry about leaving our babies home. So after Soarin' we will wander till we decide what to ride. We also have a 7:00 pm ADR at the Via Napoli. So we may take a mid-afternoon break and go back to walk to doggies....or I will send DH back and mom and I will still wander World Showcase. DH wears out faster than me or mom (hence she has her scooter to ride sooo......she's got more energy than us.)

Tuesday May 23rd:

Hollywood Studios: No need to start early.... scored at 10:30 fast-pass for Toy Story and a 1:00 fast-pass for Star Tours. After those then we will wander and do whatever strikes our fancy at the time. DH will ride Rockin' Rollercoaster with me in the single rider line and I will go it alone on Tower of Terror (Is it still open, don't hear anything about on here or at least I don't see anything). Again, if we don't do something no biggie. No ADR's for this park so we will go El' Cheapo and eat the RV for dinner and grab a TS for lunch. I forgot to mention other than our one breakfast ADR, that we will eat breakfast at the RV on our other days.

Wednesday May 24th:

Magic Kingdom: Fast-pass for Jungle Cruise at 10:00 am.....then no real plans. Wander and wait for whatever else we want to do. We do have a 4:30 ADR at the Liberty Tree Tavern. So probably an early afternoon break to walk doggies before dinner t 4:30, then stay at the park until they kick us out. (Saw that this day/night has evening EMH) After the Magic Kingdom has worn us out then it's back to camp to get some sleep before our Thursday morning departure.

Thursday May 25th:

Early AM: Break camp, and prepare for loading golf cart onto trailer.

8 AM: Return mom's scooter to bell services/ concierge for pick up. Drive her back to RV on golf cart, load golf cart on trailer. Check-Out and begin to drive north.

Drive as far as we can hopefully to Knoxville, do a quick overnight at a truck stop or rest area. (Love a self-contained RV)

Friday May 26th:

Up early and drive to our seasonal campsite (where our other "Camper" is) for Memorial Day Weekend with the "Camp Family". Drop mom off at her house in Northern Kentucky on the way so she can pick up her truck and drive it to the seasonal site. This is so she has a way home from there on Memorial Day and so we have transportation while at the seasonal too. We will need groceries, alcohol, and other things when we get there and we don't want to have to drive the RV. We will park the RV at our site and camp in the permanent camper for the weekend.

To be continued...........................or updated as plans change.

Guess my report is too lame...... or nobody actually reads these things?

It's not lame at all! Sometimes it takes people a little while to follow along! I read a LOT of reports, but I don't always comment! :) (Sometimes I'm lazy and sometimes I don't know what to say.)

I WILL say that I think it's SO COOL you get to take your dogs with you! It's my DREAM to take my pupper with me. He's the only reason I ever go home. :| I love him. I'd find it really hard to leave if I was able to have fun all day and then snuggle with my pup at night!!

Tusker House is supposed to be wonderful!! Did you get the TH package so you could see Rivers of Light, too? If not, there's standby, I think, if you want to wait for it. I've heard it's supposed to be beautiful.

And Liberty Tree Tavern is one of my favorite places for dessert!! The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is SO GOOD.

I've love to be able to take my dogs on our vacations with us! I always miss them when we're away, but we live way too far away to ever consider driving.

Tusker House is my favourite character buffet at WDW! Via Napoli had great food, but the service was extremely poor when we were there (our waiter pretty much ignored us after we placed our order, he didn't even bring any of our food to us). Liberty Tree Tavern is on my short list for our next trip!

Made a change to our ADR's.....

Watched a video about Ft. Wilderness and DH liked the idea of the buffet at Trails End so we added that as an ADR for arrival night before Disney Springs.

And thinking more about our tastes in food we decided to cancel the Via Napoli. And I'm thinking that my mom wouldn't like it was much, since she can be picky about Italian Food.

I'm hoping we will like Tusker House, we did a breakfast buffet when we went on 2012 at Crystal Palace and it was good. Just not big Pooh fans though. We did the breakfast then because my friend who went with us wanted to go there.

I remember really enjoying the Liberty Tree Tavern from two visits years ago (1997 and 2000) and I know my mom really enjoyed eating there too. My dad also enjoyed it but he is no longer with us, he passed in 2011.

I may look around for something else for our Epcot day, or we will just go back and eat at the campsite that night.

Ive always thought camping at Disney sounded fun if I lived near enough to do it. It sounds like a fun trip! I want to try Tusker House on our next trip!

How far is too far to camp? We live 930 miles away from the Ft. which is nothing compared to the 6000+ mile trip camping from Ohio to California last summer. Never camped at the Ft. before but we are really excited to give it a try. The Ft. is just the first stop of the summer for us. When we leave the Ft. we are headed back to Ohio to our seasonal campground and camper for Memorial Day Weekend, then home for a day and then off to Wildcat Off-road in Ky to ride the trails for a few days in our Polaris RZR....then back to the seasonal camper fora few more days. We are actually pretty pathetic "glampers". We even have two camping units, the 30ft Jayco Class C and the 38ft Keystone Hideout (On the seasonal site permanently)
