My First Time

Well family....I made it! My first trip home as a DVC owner was last week and it was wonderful !

I stayed at OKW (home resort) in building 33 and I loved everything about the resort.

The people I met were fantastic and the food at Olivia's was great . I know the next 36 years are going to be terrific as well.

There were no problems with my room at all and the only negative (newbie thing) was that even though one bus driver let me ride to the hospitality area with no shirt on the one who picked me up said no way. I had to walk back but it was no biggie. It just would have been nice to have known on the way to the pool.

I'm working now to schedule my next, "Voyage Home"!!

Okay Mickey'sbestfriend, I'm hoping you are a male since you didn't have a shirt on!! If not it wouldn't be very "Disney Like" behavior!!

Glad you enjoyed it and it will only get better. We've spent about six weeks per year since 1992 at Old Key West and couldn't think more highly of the place...just wait until they recognize you at Olivia's and the bell stand and the front desk

Thanks for the report. We're staying at OKW in May (as guests, not DVC owners) and I can't wait. I've heard is not all that "Disney" but very laid back and peaceful. Our DD is 8, I hope she likes it. We stayed at WL last year and she loved it so she may be a little disappointed. I would love to own DVC but I don't think I can talk my DH into it. Oh well, maybe our trip will change his mind!!

We just returned from our first trip as owners too (building 21) and completely agree with you. We just LOVE OKW and are so glad we bought those points!! I can't wait until next year (unless I can get DH to agree to switching our September ressies)!

Thanks to all who have picked up on this thread.

I'll be returning in November or December for my next trip. I love to Vaca when it's nice weather and can golf!

OKW was peaceful, quiet and beautiful and I enjoyed walking around in the morning and meeting the other DVC members. It was the closest DVC property to my Favorite resort, Port Orleans.

I hope to meet a lot of other DVC members in the future!

Hi Ya'll !!!

I also just returned from my first trip home to OKW. I met LOTS of really neat DVC members and spent quite a bit of time with a couple of them.

It was the first time to play the golf courses at WDW....Osprey Ridge and Eagle Pines. I had been out to Osprey as a "ride-along" a couple of years' back and that made up my mind to play....it is gorgeous out there!

I was lucky enuf to ride EE twice!!!! (thanks to our sneak peek status)
By May EE will be OPEN---FP if you can!

I disagree a little, mickeyluv....OKW IS Disney and you will love it! Pick up a times/activities guide at the Hospitality House---there seemed to be more going on for kids than at WL. Look for Justin at check in, he's very nice and will help welcome you!

All of my friends asked why I didn't do DVC sooner....I have been at WDW a LOT with different friends---mostly at Riverside (since it was Dixie Landings).
OKW exceeded expectations in multiple ways!
