Hi Campers!
We just got back on Monday from a surprise trip to Disney. We stayed in the cabins for the first time. We loved it!
The cabins are very nice. I love the rustic theming, but you don't lack for any ammenities! The cabin was clean, and comfortable. My friend slept on the Murphy Bed, and declared it very comfy. I slept in the double bed, and the kids were in the bunks. The bunks were a little squeaky, but otherwise fine.
We stayed in the 2800 loop. It was very shady, and very woodsy. We saw lots of ducks, and tons of beautiful birds. One morning we woke up and found some animal poop on our deck. It looked like cat poop, and it didn't take us long to find the cat that left it! Poor kitty, very feral, but looked well fed. We even saw an armadillo rooting around in the early evening! That was a hoot! We saw deer, and tons of rabbits! Lots of baby bunnies too!
The CM's all around the Fort were by far the most friendly we had encountered on our whole trip. Our mousekeepers name was Santa (really!) and she left so many towel animals for us. SHe was there one afternoon when we got back to the cabin, and she spent a considerable amount of time showing my kids how she makes them. Very nice lady!
We rented a golf cart, and I would highly recommend doing so. the cabins are a very far walk to the big pool, and restaurant. You can utilize the internal busses of course, but if you are an impatient person, a golf cart is the way to go!
We used the big pool mostly. My kids love to make new friends, and there was always plenty of kids at the bigger pool. We ate at trails End a few times, and found the food to be good, and satisfying. The servers were great too!
We used the ferry to get back and forth to the Magic Kingdom, and to our dinner at WHispering Canyon. I loved the ferry, and wish it went to all the parks! Such a nice relaxing ride. It does get a little crowded at peak times. We used our rental car for transportation to the rest of the parks.
We did the Campfire Sing a long and movie. That was great fun! I loved this, and my only complaint was the seating. If we had been "real" camping we would have brought camp chairs instead. We also watched the Electric Water Parade and Wishes from the beach one night. This was just awesome! My friend Edie and I brought a bottle of wine, had a glass and watched the shows. The kids had made friends and were playing tetherball the whole time!
We didn't use many of the comfort stations, but the few we did see were clean (with the exception of the ones at the main pool)
So we really loved it here, but I think the next time we go I would like to actually camp. I don't own an RV, but we always had one growing up, and i just love that feeling of real camping! Maybe next time we will rent an RV.
I will post some pictures on the picture thread. And I did post a full trip report if anyone is interested in reading it.
