Chapter: DAY 8 (tuesday 6 May).
At 6.45 the phone alarm woke me up. Within a few minutes I started showering and prepering myself for the day. Feeled very good, also my shoulders didn't hurt anymore, maybe a little bit.
Realized me that I'm now just half way my trip. I'v done really much till today and I can use the same time one time more. It feels great to me. This will also be the first day that I will exit the World for a day trip. The first half of my trip I spent within the WDW. Before I left my room I called with Mears to reserve my roundtrip to Universal for tomorrow. I dialed only the 0and told the Cast Member that I was looking for the Mears transportation. Got this tip here at one of the forums. Doing it this way you avoid paying 0.75 dollar. It worked out very good and within a few minutes I had a pick up time arranged at 8.15am next morning. Had a Bakery breakfast at the Peppermarket and about 8.00am I took the bus to the Magic Kingdom. It was my plan to take the express monorail back from there to the transportation and Ticket Center. The problem was that the access to the express monorail was blocked. Only if I should go through the bagcheck control I should be able to go to the Express monorail The resort monorail however was accessable, so I took the resort monorail this time. There was of course only one stop at the Contemporary, so it wasn't that bad. At the transportation and Ticket Center I asked by the bus information stand where the Lynx bus should come. They helped me good and give me also a time table. Als the timetable of the reverse route was included. This information is very important, because the timetables are not posted at the bus stips.
I found out that I had just missed a bus, so I had to wait about 25 minutes. It was still early enough, so it doesn't matter. It was nice that a few people more wanted to take the bus and I had a nice conversation with some local people. Before the bus came up a few more people arrived who wanted also go to Seaworld.
I can tell you this lynx bus service is a good one. It costs you only $1.25 and it transports you direct from the transportation and ticket center to Seaworld. Without stops. Found it really great. If you want you can transfer there also for a bus to the international drive. You can ask for as many transfers as needed and all for the same price. It is said that the United states are less common with public transport than here in Europe, but I can tell you if they have it, its much cheaper then in our country.
Just about 9.30am I arrived at Seaworld. The driver explains in which direction you needed to walk to go to the gates of Seaworld. He also informs us where the return bus should come up.
At Seaworld I bought of course the Funpass. A sort of annual pass, but its just about the same price as a one day ticket. It was a nice feature that you can choose which funcard you want to have. They have a few different types of them, all with other prints on the card. Of course they take a photo of me.
Seaworld is a very relaxing park. They have a number of three good rides on property, but for the rest the park is of course about sea animals. The main attractions of the park are their shows with the sea animals. Behind that they have a beautifull park with several sea animal or fish spotting points and a few walkthrough buildings where you can watch sharks or pinguins.
For me the mayor reason however to go to seaworld is because of their rides. With just three rides its not that much, but all three rides are worldclass rides.
I started the day with Kraken, Its a B&M ride which I like very well. The brothers B&M are from Switserland, but their rides are more found in the USA then in Europe. They are famous about building very smooth coasters where you sit with four people in a row instead of two which is more common to most coasters.
I like Kraken so much that I can't tell you how many times I did ride it. It was not busy at this attraction, so the wait time was minimal. Between some rides at Kraken I went to the Atlantis ride. Also a good one. Its a watercoaster type of ride. Its a waterride which has some coaster elements in it. The concept is found out and build by the Mack company in Germany. This was their first ride of this type. In their own park in the south west of Germany (Europapark) they have build a bigger one.
The one in Seaworld is however more themed and because of that I like it very much. Did this ride about three times this day.
Of course I visited some shows. The first show where I went was the Sea Lion Pirate show. Can't tell you exactly what's going one, but it is fun!
After that I visited the number three of their rides. Its Wild Artec. Its a simulator ride. The theme is that you are traveling to the Wild Artic district. After you exited the ride you arrive at a walk through about the Wild Artec. Its a cool place if its hot outside. Of course they want to give you the feel of the temperature at the North Pole. You can watch many fish and Ice bears. The ride itself is not as good as some other rides, but the whole theming around it make it that I like the ride very good.\
After that I visited the Shamu stadium. This they say is their proud. Shamu is one of the biggest sea animal types. Its also a fun show, since there are people that get wet. If you are in the Soak zone you can get absolutely soaked. The nice thing is that they are selling towels at the end with Soak zone printed on the towels.
What I did more this day and in which order I can't remember. I had a lunch at the hospitility center and of course a free Beer.
Visited also all the walk through buildings. Didn't do all the other shows. At the end of the day I did another few rides on Kraken and Atlantis.
About 5.30pm I was at the bus stop to go back to Disney.
Of course I needed to be at the Magic Kingdom to night because tonight there is the Spectro Magic Parade and fireworks.
Bus ride back was just as fine as the bus trip to Seaworld. The only thing is that the bus stop across the street of Seaworld is not very well equiped. I shouldn't wait there for a bus with a disabled person. Also if they have buses with elevators for weelchairs. The ground there is very rough. Also if it rains you will get wet. There is no prevention.
Took the monorail to the MK and inside I went to a fastfood restaurant for a quick snack. Did also some shopping. Saw the spectro magic Parade and the Fireworks for the second time. The spectro parade is good, but it was very busy. I was glad that I found a good spot 50 minutes before it started and I never left that place. Both the Parade and the firworks were great to see. This evening shows are the highlights of Disney world and also of my trip.
Waited some time in the park before exiting. Man it was busy. At the bus stip it was a chaos. The fact is that people were standing in line for buses and when I wanted to pass by they told me that I had to go in line. The fact was that my bus was leaving much further away and their line was not for my bus. The line blocked the whole bus stip walkpath, so there was no way to get access to the real line for my bus. Finally, after a 15/20 minutes I was finally in the good line. In a very full bus I went back to the Coronado Springs Resort.
Tonight was my first dinner at the Peppermarket. Of course along with free coke with my resort mug.;
Ordered the Mexican dish of the day. It took some minutes to prepare it. The meal was really good and much better then the fast food dinner at Epcot that I had. Thee price was also more expensive here. Enjoyed the food very good. They treated me very good. Because I'm disabled with my eyes the server took care of it all and brought the prepared food to my table. It feels like a sitdown meal. Because of this great service I left a small tip for the server herself as an extra. Also they charge the 10 per cent of course, but not for the free drinks.
After dinner I watched some TV and went to bed. Tomorrow the destination is Universal Studios Florida. Oh I can't wait to ride the Hulk and the Duelling Dragons. Its just one night away.
Comming soon DAY 9
