Hello! It might be a little early to write a Pre-Trip Report for our vacation from Jan 4th-11th but I don't think I could wait any longer!
I've been planning this trip for a few months now and I think I've waited long enough!
Let me start with the travelers:
Me: I'm Christine and I'm 22 years old. I have been to Disney only twice before: once in Jan of 2006 and once in Jan of 2009. As you can see, I really enjoy going in January. It tends to be a lot less crowded and I figure that I should use this to my advantage while I'm still in school and get a long winter break!
I'm currently going to Queens College in New York and studying to become a high school biology teacher (yay summers off for Disney trips!
) I graduated last spring from Binghamton University with my degree in Biology. I currently work part time at a nature center teaching school groups, scout groups, etc. and doing science themed birthday parties and summer camps. Although I started late with the Disney mania.. I am definitely hooked! I only visited Disney World for my first time in 2006 at the age of 18 but I was obsessed with all of the Disney movies as a child. I am new to the DIS boards but I have been visiting them everyday for the past month while planning my trip and have read tons of books! I'm definitely an obsessive planner! My favorite characters are Mary Poppins, Belle, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas, Wall-E and the characters from UP!
My boyfriend Ben is 20 (soon to be 21) and is a senior at Binghamton University. He will be graduating in May with his degree in geology and hopes to become a high school teacher as well. He has been to Disney World one other time around the age of 5 or 6 but doesn't remember much. He also went to Disneyland once around the age of 14.
We have been dating since high school and spent a year and a half apart while I was up in Binghamton because he is a year younger. He soon followed and we are now doing the long distance relationship thing again for his last year up at school. We are both kids at heart and although he doesn't share the same love for Disney as I do (that might be a little hard...
), he loves Aladdin and the Lion King and is a huge fan of Star Wars and Indiana Jones as well at Toy Story and the more recent Pixar movies.
We started dating April 17th of 2005 and are planning this trip in celebration of our 5th anniversary together. Hopefully this is the first of many Disney trips together in the years to come
Check back within the next couple of days for our daily plans and our ADR's! Thanks for reading!
