Hi All,
I'm new here - I've been lurking for a month or so now, since DH and I decided to book a suprise trip for our family in Nov 2011. I am an obsessive planner when it comes to our Disney trips. Last trip was March 2010 (POR), before that was March/April 2006 (ASMo). We have 4 kids - DD(15), DD(12), DS(7) and DD(3). I am already spending way to much time overthinking our Nov 2011 trip - which will be a suprise trip for our kids. My youngest will turn 4 during our trip, and my oldest will turn 16 right after we get home. We plan to tell the kids the day before we leave!

Nice to 'meet' you all....

:welcome:

What a great idea to surprise them! :thumbsup2 I'm sure they will love it! Have a magical time! :wizard: Where are ya'al staying?

Thanks! As of right now we are booked in a family suite @ ASMu Nov 21-29. I was back and forth so many times but in the end I decided that I needed to go the Value route. This trip wasn't originally supposed to happen until Nov 2012 but I was able to convince DH that we could make it work this year. We are so excited to be able to see Disney decorated for Christmas! Now my dilemna is MVMCP. For a family of 6 it is a significant additional expense. I am back and forth on this one.... If we go for it, it would be on Nov 27th, which is my DDs 4th b-day. We are already planning that day as a MK day, to do BBB for her and hopefully CRT for lunch. Decisions......

Welcome! :thumbsup2

Christmas time at Disney is magical and you will absolutely love it!! We have also done MVMCP and loved it. However there are days when the party is very crowded. We are going to also be in Disney some of the days you are and we have opted not to do the party on the 27th since that weekend is going to be so crowded in general. I don't want to dissuade from doing it. The castle is beautiful, the fireworks are awesome and the whole park has an amazing vibe. Some of the dates do sell out, so be sure to get your tickets sooner than later if you choose to do the party. If you are going to do the party and will be in MK during the day make sure you take a break for several hours before you return to enjoy MVMCP.

Enjoy your planning and have a wonderful Merry vacation!! :)

Welcome. I am hoping for a surprise trip for our kids next year. Even though we go every year, I wish I could do something to make it more magical. How are you telling them about the trip?

I honestly have no idea how we are going to tell the kids. We are planning to have a bday party for my DD (who is turning 4 while we are in WDW) the day before we leave, and I would like to be able to tell the kids then. I need to see if I can swing that with my two oldest dds who will be missing 2 days of school (mon and tues before thanksgiving). I need to inform their school ahead of time - and their teachers probably will prepare some homework for them which they will give them. So I don't know....haven't fully thought this through. Ideas are totally welcome!
