My first post - Vistana Question

Hi All!

I must first say these boards are great. I have been reading them all summer. We are staying at the Vistana Resort the last week of September. I already did my homework on the different sections and did the Diamond Lane check-in. I requested Cascades (they will only give us a 1br) and of course they said - no guarentees. SO with that being said here's my question. My mom is a Sheraton employee so we are getting her discount. Do you think Sheraton would give us a "bad room" because of the discount or do you think because of being an employee we might get a nice room? I have read so much about RCI exchanges, etc but haven't read if any other Sheraton employees have stayed here. I am scared of some of the post I read about the older sections. Am I being silly?

I am so happy to be going to Disney. It's our DS (4) first trip and my other DS (8) second trip. No matter what we are lucky to be going and I can't wait. Only 23 days!!!

Hey Jennifer!

I do not know, but I would hope that Vistana would NOT give you a bad unit because of the discount. After all, it is a Sheraton employee discount.

About requesting Cascades... I do hear that the units at Cascades are smaller. Seems like I have read that some of the 1br units there are very small. Does using your mothers discount restrict you to a 1br??? Anyhow, even if you do not get Cascades, I hear that there are other very nice sections where you would have more room!

Thanks for your response. Yes, they will only let me get a 1br. Do you know if all sections include 1 br? I just requested Cascades because everyone said it was the nicest. I just want a nice, clean unit that we can enjoy. I really got nervous reading some of the posts. I don't want anything to put a damper on our trip

I know that Lakes has one bedrooms as well. I really don't know about the rest of the resort because we've only ever stayed in 2 bedrooms before.
I really hope you get a good unit, and that you have a wonderful trip. And Welcome to the DIS!

Thanks all. I couldn't stand it any longer so I just called the Vistana, Diamond Lane and they said I will get in either Cascades or Lakes (maybe they are the only sections w/ one bedroom). I sure hope that's true when I get there!

I loved the spa area. But think they are all nice. The ones i have seen anyway. We almost went back on this trip.
